Just bought the new YFZ. I am impressed on the street. It is SOOOO different from my banshee. Thats what I get for buying a four stroke!

Anyways, anyone have any recommendations on a pipe set up?

Also I have heard the new ITP paddles are great, anyone have info on those?

Let me know

Once you pipe it and pull off the airbox lid the bike wakes up alot. Alba had a good deal with pipe, filter, pro flow plate, outerware and jets that are pretty much right on for $450. Very happy with my set up. My friend has an ESR pipe but it doesn't perform any better and he paid $600 just for the pipe. As far as paddles I'm in the same boat. What paddles to buy. Right now I'm using the ones off my banshee 21x12x8 haulers. They're a little big. I think I'm going to step down to the 20x10x8's though. I have the ITP's on a different bike and they're a good paddle for the money. I'd say they're on the same lines as the skate 2's and alot cheaper. Cycle Parts West has them for $125 on .125's if your in Dago. Enjoy the new toy!

I bought 2 YFZ 450's and the early recomendations from several mechanics about the YFZ 450, and the NEW Honda 450EX are to not idel them too long.

If ya stop for more than a minute, shut off the engine. Don't sit there chattin and idlein'.

This is from their experiences with the 450 motors in both the Honda MX and the Yamaha MX 2 wheelers.

If you notice at night, your YFZ 450's exhause pipe glows a cherry red.

I thought,, oh sh*t,, this ain't good. But both my YFZ's do this, and 3 of my neighbors YFZ's do too,,, so no BFD.

I take creedence in the recomendation to not prolong idle them.

Carry Yamaha oil with you because they will use some each ride out.

I use non friction modified Yamalube 4 stroke 20-40 oil.

just my advise and free advise is worth what ya paid for it.

I just bought a yfz 450 too, for my little bro anyway, I havent ridden it much, but its an even race up the hill between us, I have a raptor with pipe and a couple other things, he has the scat track haulers on the 450 (straight cut), I have the new ITP front and rear paddles, they are the best paddle I have owned so far, like them way more than the Skate II's, more aggressive and bite better, almost too good, my raptor is already a wheelie machine and now I can barely keep the front on the ground, but with the 450's low center of gravity, they would probably work bitchen with that bike, and I do plan on getting the alba pipe kit as well, have fun
