Those places are far from me. Anyone have links to a website where I can order one?

I thought about buying one, but a buddy pointed out it might not be so great if you fall and get tangled up with one...

ben, chapparral has steel whips, they are around 45 bucks. i finally got my stainless whip from clifford mfg that i ordered at the sand show, i put it on last sat, one ride to the hill and before i even got back to camp the strobe quit working. they probablly have what it is oyur looking for, but unforntunately for the shoddy customer service and the fact it worked only 2 hours, i will not recomend them.

Ben just go to a metal warehouse and pick-up a 8ft piece of stainless steel bar stock. If you have a mount for the old whip use it. Then go to Auto-Zone and get a couple of grommets for the flag...

I think I remember seeing one in the Rocky Mountain ATV Catalog

I have known it to be Fibertech sense i was a little kid but they changed the name, if you go by there now the sign says Fabtech. I will look again but i am 99.9% sure. icon_biggrin.gif

Why would you want a steel whip? icon_confused.gif

Because the steel whips have the reputation of being damn near unbreakable. If you eat it with a fiberglass whip, it will break unless your are lucky. All my flags have about two feet missing off them from various accidents.

The steel whip is made of springy steel and will bend and spring back to shap in a fall. Someone on this board had one for over 10 years I remember reading.

I also have the fear of being impaled on the broken end of a fiberglass whip. I know it sounds like the odds are worse than winning the lottery but I have always feared that.
Robbie
And fireball has been known to do some spectacular crashing

call Hytech in Yucaipa. They ship and their Steel whips were like $17

Awesome Mark. Thanks for the info. HyTech is local.

And Robbie, I've been known for my spectacular crashes but have to bow down to the master. I mean, I let go of my handlebars. How many times did you roll without letting go that one time? 6? =)
