I have a low budget rail that I have a TON of fun with, but am curious as to the horsepower rating. I have no access to a dyno, and my brother was asking what I thought it made.
I guessed low at 90-95, but he thinks it's closer to 120.
So I figure I'd hit you tech wizzards up for a guess:

2054 motor
110 Engle cam
041 heads
About 7.4:1 compression with a turbo running about 7-8 psi boost
Weber 44 carb (drawn through)
091 distributor with Petronix

What do you think?

I think you are pretty close, maybe as high as 130hp.

Good calculator and site, shows about 165bhp 145ftlb

I was going to say 175lb at the crank. My 2332 turbo motor made 191hp to the ground at 7psi

It depends on whose dyno.



225hp on the Turnkey dyno, 97hp on the Outfront dyno.

i'd guess 140-150 to the ground

That isn't a Turnkey engine, you know that better than anybody!


You have the unique distinction of owning the least expensive Forrester assembled engine ever built. I wish I could get a deal like that!

I honestly think your biggest issue is gonna be selecting a clutch that will hold up.

I was gonna guess in the 160-170hp range.
