I just bought my wife a stock 07 LTR-450 a couple of weeks ago and took it out duning last Saturday. Through the big bowls behind Olds it had problems pulling some of the hills in 3rd gear and even going around the bowls I would have to shift down or it would lose momentum. Just wondering if this is normal or if there is a problem with the quad. I've got a Cherry Bomb ordered, but don't want to put it on yet if there is a problem with the quad in case it voids the warranty.
Thanks,
Brian

In stock form this is normal. Install the cherry bomb, remove the spark arrestor and air box lid. Will be a different quad.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure before I did any modifications.

Drop a tooth on the front sprocket also.
It is geared for those little tires it comes with.

Thanks for all of the replies. Again this quad is for my wife and she rides pretty good, but her last quad was a LTZ-250. I think I'll put on the cherry bomb, remove the air box lid and SA and see how she likes it and then look into going down a tooth on the front sproket. Can't have the wife kicking my ass on my Raptor.

Thats funny, I took her out to Comp on Thursday and all she wanted to do is race up and down the hill. She wouldn't even go up Comp with the 250. She already kicks my ass on our standup.

Firend of mine bought an LTR the same week I bought my KFX450R. Out of the box, they both sucked on the dunes (mine was pinging badly near the top of Olds or anytime I would get on the gas hard). He bought a cherry bomb first and that made a dramatic difference. Next he added a slip on, and that thing is night and day different! It is a fooking monster now (still slower than my KFX, but that's another story... yay.gif ).
