Here is the set-up I am running.
2.5 STI shortblock
JE Pistons
WRX Ball Bearing Turbo
Intercooler
Pump Fuel.
OutFront Injectors (50 lbs)
Boost will be 15 psi
2.0 Twin Turbo Heads
MicroTech ECU
Mated to a Mendie E box.
Builder is S&S Performance (Steve Johnson of Johnson's Bug Machine)
Dynoed by the Dyno Shop in Santee CA.
I realize that Outfront's Dyno is Stingy so I am looking for someone with a similar set-up.
What is a Realistic Expectation of HP and Torque?
1) Go Fast
2) Go Fast with a Smile
3) Go Fast with a Chubby
4) Go Fast, puckered
Buggy is a Mid-Travel 4 Seater 16 inches, Weights 1550 lbs.

I have a 2.5 STI turboed much like yours in a 2 seater and run race fuel with 20lbs of boost. I am 330hp to the ground and 308 lbs of torque.

bigger turbo, bigger injectors, 5 to 10 lbs more boost = bigger chubby.

sti block
SHOC
55cc injectors
t3/t4 hybrid turbo
link plus computer
inercooler
big oil pan
14lbs boost on AV gas
I cant exactly remember but I thought I was told 270 to the wheels and tourqe was almost the same. But I remember John telling me it was close to 400hp crank so Im not totaly sure but couldn't be happier with the power, and lots of low end power

You'll be in between "go fast with a smile" to "go fast with a chubby".
People are always surprised at how quick my car is, especially when the turbo spools up.
I'm running at 300 to 330 hp at the flywheel on 111 race gas (only draw back to this set up if you ask me).

I have SOHC heads, closed deck at 15lbs boost and I get 270RWHP, which translates on John's dyno to about 400HP at crank. Since you have 2.0head you should get a little more, maybe 430 or so. Big fun in a 1550lb car. Be careful with that 4E trans.

I have bought 2 motors from Steve, very similar, but we set them at 8 lbs of boost so we can run 92 pump. Dyno shop dyno set one motor at 207 rwhp and ran the car up to 110mph, but Outfronts dyno set the same motor at about 185 rwhp. I think dynoshop's numbers are a little off, and I would trust Johns hp numbers more.

I would say that this engine is around the same hp as what you would get on my dyno, that is if it is tuned the same. Good luck! let us know how you like it

WOW!!! What a Ride...
I picked the Car up at 7:00 PM Friday Night on my way out to Ogilby Camp.
I had it at Test Hill on Saturday. There were several other Subie's at the Hill Funny how none of them wanted to run up the Hill with me.
Of Course my Brother's VW Car is still Faster. He has a 2332 T3 Turbo Running Race Fuel in a 1200 lbs Car...
Dyno Shop in Santee, Set it at 274.9 Peak HP. and 280 Ft/bls of torque. If I remember correctly Peak Torque was at like 2000 RPM's or something rediculously Low...
I was mistaken about the boost it is set a 10 lbs Maximum. Definately had a Big Smile on my face... Nothing like pulling 3rd hard all the way to the top. I never got it past 3/4 throttle and I mostly ran at 1/2 throttle. I guess I won't be pulling any wheelies... I probably need another 100 HP or so at the wheels to do that...
Steve did a great job and Delivered the car ready to go.. Thanks Steve.
Maybe Next year I'll upgrade the Turbo and the Header's.
Dave McDowell told me my 4E will easily handle 350 at the Wheels. He said he did some special upgrades. I have the same tranny he runs in his Subie car, His motor is pushing 350 at the wheels.

Hey MGM,
What kind of exhaust are you running there? and did you fab it or buy it that way? I'm looking for something similar for my Subie.
Thanks!
