Just wondering if anyone else has found some of this "trash"? Our group was camped in wash 13 the week before T-day and I happened to find a piece of rebar. Only thing was it was not your ordinary rebar that you may find in a camping area. This rebar was driven 4 feet into the sand with only about an inch sticking out of the sand. Has anyone else seen this in the area?

I'd sure like to hope it's just some bit of junk left over from some movie or commercial years ago, but it sure sounds suspicious.
Wouldn't be the first time something like that has been left as a nasty surprise for the duning community.
A few years ago... I think it was that first season those awful closures came into being... there were reports of "stucco nails" all over the Wash Road and some other heavily traveled areas.
Can't imagine anyone doing any stucco work out there in Glamis but the alternative is sabatoge.
Of course, we all know that the more extreme "environmental protectors" are very well acquainted with those types of tactics

I understand enviroMENTALists trying to save the dunes, but at the cost of human life. I don't understand the message, if you kill people who is going to enjoy the land they are trying to preserve?? It's all so ironic.

Lot of A-holes everywhere. Look at the scum who dig ditches at the hill. Just kooks who go out to be "extreme" and don't ride.

That comes right out of the earth first death manual.
Didn't the environmental extremist group's spokesweenie belong to Earth First?

I don't think it was from anything done years ago. It was coated with green plastic except for the point at the end.

We camped at wash 7 this time and someone in wash six left their potty tent. A potty tent, buy a cheap 2 man tent dig a hole around it about 2 feet deep, then cut out the bottom. You can figure out the rest. Oh! by the way also leave it for someone else to clean up.
That's gross.
