Me's Better Half

My wife has an 07 Suzuki 450. We were doing the end of season maintenance on the quads and the wife was wrenching on hers. We got all the oil drained out of the oil tank and while tightening the oil drain plug the metal bent. We weren't even torquing it down and it bent. I tried backing off the bolt and the whole thing broke out. I pulled the oil tank and it looks like the weld broke. It is a very thin metal so I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Also, the bike is only two months old, should this be something that the factory warranty covers? Thanks in advance for any advice.

it should be covered under warrenty, did you purchase an extended warrenty? usually dealer warrenty can be from 90 days to 6 months. call tomorrow. since its your first service, factory probably over torqued the bolt to begin with.

Hey J, Anna told me to tell you that she wasn't mad at me when she was wrenching. I appreciate the offer but I'm gonna try to get this thing covered under warranty since the bike is only two months old.
