Looking for suggestions on where to go for a few days of fun over Memeorial Wekkend. a small goup (adults only) of us from Az are considering LA or San Diego. Looking for pro's / con's on both locations along with things to do. We are not interested in any of the "Parks" at this time (disney, knotts, sea world, etc.) I hope some of you locals can help us out. Also any suggestions on place to stay (Hotles) are welocome as well.

Thanks...

In San Diego you have Mission Valley with a sl;ew of nice hotles. A walk or short drive top Old Town. Lots of stuff to see and restaurants. Little shops for the ladies. Also close to my favorite restaurant, Todai. All you can eat sushi! Best I've had

Ok so why do you guys say that?

San Diego - Old town, Gas Lamp, Mission Bay.

LA - Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, The whole Hollywood thing, Mullholand drive.

I have been to both and like both, the otherrs going have never spent any time at either place other than Sea World and Disney Land.

Thanks for all the help.

Cleaner air, cooler temps, nicer town, centrally located attractions like the ones you listed.
Lived in both towns and I way prefer SD.

only problem would be getting reservations.. Its only a couple weeks away..

It all depends on what your looking to do. SD is a nice place for many reasons and so is LA. If you're looking for restaurants and clubs and the whole "Hollywood" thing, then obviously LA is your choice. While you're there, if you're into clubbing, go to Avalon in Hollywood on Vine Saturday night. What kind of trip you planning? What are you into?

SD over LA.......no brainer.

the traffic in LA sucks and you will spend lots of time sitting in it no matter where you go!

SD.....even on a bad day our traffic isn't as bad as a good day in LA

things to do in SD

Clubs in the Gas Lamp District are plentiful and I'm told fun....not my thing so I don't know.

Old Town, SeaPort Village, The beaches.....many of them and all easy to get to.

Mission Valley has lots of shopping and dining.

Balboa Park......museums, IMAX theatre, dining

Casinos in every corner of the county!

Outlet Malls......oine in Carlsbad and one down by the TJ border.

Much more that I don't have time to tell you about this morning laughing.gif just as your AZ buddies......they all come here to beautiful SD laughing.gif
