my friend is lookin for some new or used quads for his kids. i think he wants a 4 stroke cuz he doesnt want to mix the gas. (mainly cuz he has a 4 stroke himself)
the kids are 7,5, and 2 years old. so they have room to grow into each bike. he has been talking about getting a 50 and a 90 but what brands are the best for the kids as far as parts and safety set ups?
any info is appreciated.

Best friend just bought a polaris 90. It's a two stroke but it's oil injected so he just has to dump in oil every couple days or so. It's the only little quad that he found with full trays for the feet. Damn near impossible to stick a foot off and run it over. Two throttle limiters also. Pretty peppy with a full grown adult on it to boot.

The lt80 has full nerfs, but the polaris 90 has a beam suspension in the front, and the lt80 has a better a-arm suspension wiht alot of hop ups

i have a 7,4and a 2 yr old as well.i bought the bombadier ds 50-its big for growing room but only a 50.my 7 yr old(girl) is already asking for a faster bike but it was a good learner.my 4 yr old(girl) is now learning.its hard for both of my girls to operate the brake levers.i think the manufacturers make it hard so you dont let the youngsters on them at too early an age.look at them all and see which ones you think your kids can operate safely.oh yeah the ds 50 is 2 stroke but oil injected as well

Hey ShockTheMonkey, I think your thinking of the Yamaha Craptor 80's front suspension. That's the one with the beam or straight axle front suspension. The Polaris 90 is VERY similiar to the Kasea 90 front end (A-arm), and most all those Korean or Taiwan based quads. Take the plastic's off and it'd be hard to tell them apart. Lots of hop-up parts for the LT80, Kasea AND Polaris 90's and there's LOTS of power available when the little chits are ready for it. Just takes $$$.

I started my kids at 3.5- 4 years old on the Suzuki Quadmaster LT50A - it was good around camp and on flats - not a mini duner at all - my youngest is on it now - 5 year old and he works it - running start to make it up the lil dunes. My 8 and 6 year old ride Suz LT80's - I piped them, K&N, Holeshot tires in rear (actual Razors) for our Ocotillo Wells runs, alumunums all the way around, and a set of paddles for "G" runs - they kick butt - one of them is two years old and no problems! Just keep them air cleaners clean and change your oil. My 5 year old will be surprised when Santa brings him an LT80 this year for Xmas! There are alot of hop ups for them other than pipes. Like light kits, stators, AC Bumpers - check out Trinity and Hetrick Racing for other engine mods - to me a pipe and K&N has them cookin' pretty good! At least for the age of my kids - My 7 year old took hers 3/4 up Olds no prob - she got a little "concerned" so she turned around and came back down - Pops on her side of course! It would have made it easy - the mini dunes 8-12 footers are no prob at all and they handle real well - I'm installing widened front end kits next - I give them an 8 paddle out of 10 paddle rating! Good Luck!

No, Yamaha now has a Raptor 50 with the solid front axle. I've looked at both the Polaris and the Yamaha and Kasea, I'll be going with the Polaris.

What about the denli 50cc quads ? Anybody have any feedback on them. They have a remote control that shuts off the motor up to 200 yards away.

the suzuki LT 80 is the best..electric start, automatic, full suspension....Kawasaki also has their green lt80..same bike, different color...I think the LT80 quad has proven itself for many many years....about 16 years or so now....that says a lot...perfection through time....

For the little one go with the Dinli 50. It's 2 stroke but oil injected. Cheaper and faster than the lt50's. Electric start with a kick start back up. Throttle limiter and best of all... A remote kill switch. You won't have to follow the youngster around holding a leash. It works from a good distance away. I bought my sons for $1500 out the door brand new. Buddy spent alot more on his sons used lt50 and it doesn't compare.

I would highly recommend you don't buy a 50. The kids outgrow them too fast. An 80/90 quad is barely larger physically than a 50.and you can always govern it down.
Nobody has mentioned the Eton Viper 90. I have one and can say they are great bikes. Every bit as fast as an LT80 and looks just like a baby raptor. Mine came with lights and Maxxis tires front and rear. Not 1 problem so far.

see im tryin to talk him away from a 50 too. his kids would out grow it way too fast. what he was gonna do was put the oldest boy(7) on an 80 and the middle boy(5) on a 50 but by the time he learned on the 50 he would be ready for the 80. i know there are parts out there that help govern the bike so the kid doesnt get out of control. who knows i think ill talk him into gettin both kids 80s. i think he will listen easily especially when i show him the replys on the topic.
thanks for all the info.
