Hey is any one running the vito's power piston or the susper stock? Are they reliable? Did you notice any diference like they claim? I just tosted the top end and am thinking of going with the super stock pistons. Thanks in advance for the info.

ride red has a point, ive melted three top ends this season....twice in my shee once in my tank....but then again never trust anyone but yourself, i would go with the prolites tho (pistons were not the problem for me) they lasted a bit longer then they should have

but when in doubt, post

Ran the Super Stocks in my 89 Banshee, although I only got one run on them before it was stolen, I noticed a huge difference. It's was well worth it, I'll be doing it on my '01 Banshee next off season.

Hey RRO3 why do you say stay away from Weisco? I have run them in all the bikes that I have ever rebuilt and had no problems with them.

I run them in my 97, brother-in-law used to pull me on Olds. by 2 bikes. Installed the Vito's pistons & I'm about 1/2 bike ahead. I think they make a diff. have run them 3 hard seasons 10-12 trips a year & hav'nt had any problems.

I've got the Wiesco's in mine - put them in two summers ago - ride the hell out my banshee and she's held tight for two seasons and still kicks a$$. Also milled the head - if I recall compression is about 130 - since your tearin' it down "again" think about the support stuff - I replaced the "plastic" impeller with the billet deal, replaced the impeller gear and seal, and new exhaust seals. I also dumped the air box and installed K&N's straight to the carbs with outers, and put in the V-Force Reeds and Cages. I also run those Iridium plugs - the 7.00 jobbers. It has a solid pull all the way to top speed - very happy with my setup. Really place close attention to that jetting - my nephew was blasting through top ends and ended up that he was runnin' to small on the mains. HY Tech ATV hooked my up on the bore job, pistons, and milling of the head. Good Luck!

mr sandman which pistons do you have in your bike? DJ I had a rip in the carb boot before the carb and got sand and ran it lean in one cyl.

I have been riding the crap out of the bike and the tear got me before I noticed it. It ran two trips with the one weak cyl before she went.

They were called power pistons and they are made by wiseco for Vito's. I bought them online for like $219.00, as a kit, came with gaskets, rings, top end bearings, etc. I think I got them from magic Racing.

Stick with the stock replacements. They last longer.

al - that's a drag, thanks for the heads up though - my Banshee is 6 years old now, I think I'm gonna replace those carb boots now before it cost me more money than I'm willing to part with! That lean crap will kill them motors everytime! I spent about the same at Hy Tech - dunno what the name/type are other than Wiseco - I do know that they are domed compared to stockers, and they ran me about 225.00 ish for the whole kit. I did the break in thing when you fire up the bike, let it idle for about a two - three minutes and than turned it off for 20-30 minutes, than repeated the process about 4 times. Heating the pistons and cooling them, etc. Than ran a couple of tanks through her, changed the oil, and tore it up! Next time around I'll weld the cranks, and probably install the Cool Head. That's all the info I have for your rebuild - most of the info, I compiled from: Trinity Racing, Alba Action, Hytech ATV, and my own bag of tricks. I stick with the "common ground" between my sources. Usually works for me. Good Luck!

I think I am going to go with the vito's and see how they do. I am not going to rebuild it for a while I am more worried about getting the rail together and running right now for New Years weekend. When I get it rebuilt I will give the low down on what I think of them. Thanks for all the replies.

Al, I have just seen many bikes cold seize with wiseco pistons. If you treat your bike right and warm it up before you nail it then you are okay. I will never use wiseco's again, just my preference. Sandking is right, stock is the most reliable.
Now get that buggy done bro

I am working on getting the rail completed. I have been a slacker I didn't work on it since I wrecked and messed up my legs on Halloween weekend. I am back to getting around good now so I am working my butt off to get it done. Hope I can complete it.
