I need help...... my sister has a 91 warrior with a supertrap pipe and the thing is hard to dune. While everyone else is in like 2nd and 3rd, she is in 5th and 6th and when she goes up a hill she has to down shift to like 3rd. Im going to change the chain and sprockets so does anyone have an suggestions on gearing. Thanks in advance......Ryan

I used to ride one quite often out at G. It seemed to have the same gearing/shifting patterns as all the other bikes I have ridden. Did you buy the bike new? Are you sure your sprockets are factory sized? What about tires dimensions? It is puzzling that you say she is in like 5th gear when everyone else is in 2nd?????? Thats sounds way overstated, or something is way off......by the way, that heavy tank of a quad will require 2 or 3rd gear to get up the hills...its old school motor....old school power...it cant compete with the newer bikes....

SERIOUSLY, ITS IN 5TH GEAR ON SLOW RIDES. I TAKE IT OUT AT NIGHT AND LEAD RIDES TO OLDS WITH A POLARIS TRAILBOSS AND A 250R AND IM IN 6TH TO STAY IN FRONT OF THE POLARIS. WE DIDN'T BUY THE BIKE NEW, GOT IT ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO FROM AN OLD MAN WHO ONLY RODE IT IN GLAMIS. I THINK IM GOING TO GO UP 1 TOOTH ON THE FRONT SPROCKET AND SEE HOW THAT DOES....RYAN

the old man most likely had the sprockets swapped out, because a warrior has a lot of high end speed...check the back as well as the front sprockets, it may require a new chain too.....

I have an 01 warrior, I went 1 tooth down in front (same as up 2 in the rear) and it cruises in 3rd in dunes, but still a gutless wonder, my guess is that grandpa never went fast and really changed the sprockets big time, ask a dealer what stock is, and count what you have and compare differences, good luck.
