I have been faced with a serious decision. My wife and I are trying to buy a business. I am trying not to have to sale my rail but might have to to get the business. I might have to anyways if my wifes back doesn't start getting better. Right now I am redoing the car from the ground up. Long travel 5 seater. I currently have the Newstar with an 091. I know I am going to a different trans, thus my signature. But I cant decide if I should turbo the motor or not. I have a really good deal found on a totally sweet turbo setup for it. I feel for the size of the car, the Newstar just doesn't do it for me. But turbo'ed I bet it would. BUT I dont know if the turbo and lets say a 2D would help the car sell faster with the added cost but I think it would be more appealing with some better performance goodies. With the turbo I would keep it down to be able to run Premium as well.

Please help me decide what to do. You people on here are the biggest rail community and several have bought and sold cars, so I would greatly appreciate any input. I realise it is going to be hard to sell in this gas price driven shizz economy right now. Also in my neck of the woods, our duneing season is just getting started so I hope that might help some.

Turbo and 2d would get someone like me to look. No interest in an 091, even though I know lots of people than run with with good luck. Boost is always good especially if you can get a deal on it. Just my preference though.

like wash 11 said, an 091 you wont get much if any interest. depending on the rest of the car and what you price it at will determin how much and how quick you could sell it. turbo or not the trans is the big deal maker or breaker right there. i can tell you one thing with this market, do not expect to get nowhere near top dollar. when theres guys selling buckshots with ls1 and 2d for in the mid to low 40's.

No matter what you have for a motor and tranny, it is all about price. If priced right, it will sell with any combination. Like Kevin said, forget top dollar in today's market. Also do not get offended when you get lowballed with offers. Just the nature of the economy. It all depends what you need to get out of your car if it will sell or not.

Personally, I'd think after price, the tranny would be the key. In your situation, I think I'd look to save a couple G's and put in a 4E for now, and leave the motor alone. If you have to sell it, the lower price without the turbo might be the difference between a sale or not. Then, when your personal picture becomes clearer, you could add the turbo. Then, if you tear up the tranny, you could have it upgraded to a 2D, but from some folks experience, I suspect you'll find the 4E will work fine for the V6 in either NA or turbo..YMMV of course..icon_wink.gif
