I'm looking to see if any of you have the same troubles that I'm having. I've been chating with Squatcher about my problems and figured that its time to share my problems with everyone. The following are quotes from our e-mails.
QUOTE Paul,
Thanks for the info...the only place that has a sticker stating satalite is below the powerbooster.

QUOTE QUOTE Squatcher,
I was reading one of your post about satellite's so I thought that I would drop you a line to see if you would share some info with me. I have an 05 WW LE3305 that has a sticker on the door that reads I am winegard satellite ready and where the coax comes out of the wall where the main TV is their is another sticker that reads satellite.
The problem that I am having getting my dish to (tripod w/Dish 500) to work. I'm not sure how to run the wires, I tried plugging into the outside cable feed and had no luck. Do I need to change the wall plate inside my unit or do I have to add wires?
Thank You
Manny
Hey Manny,
First thing to do is run a cable from your dish though the door and into the receiver. Make sure you are on signal first. Then start moving wires around to see if you get the signal back. More than likely you are going to have to take out the powerbooster. Does your WW have a outside connection labeled Sat? Give me a call if you get stuck. my cell is xxx-xxx-xxxx. It is easier to tell you than type it. I can set you up with a automatic for dish if you want. Let me know. If you use your trailer lots it will be worth it.

That Sat connection if from the roof. That is wired for a winegard dome which work great for dish network. What you will have to do is get on signal in your driveway. Once on signal take the coax from the dish and go into your cable imput on the side of your trailer and plug that the coax in. Inside your trailer you will see the other coax end. should be on a plate with a button and red/green light. Take that plate off and start hooking up the coax one at a time to the receiver and see which one gives you satellite signal. Use that wire. If you want everything hooked up like you had it and add the satellite line you will need a set of diplexors. But it can be done. First thing is to find that wire, then it is no big deal to add the diplexors. Hope that helps.

This is the latest with my WW satellite issues.
Thanks for all the help. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is with my WW. I got on signal in my driveway (watched sat tv) hooked directly to my receiver. Then I removed the power booster from the wall and tried to get signal from my out side jack by hooking up to each coax directly. Luckily my cables were labeled, ant, cable, and bedroom. I hooked my receiver into the coax labeled cable (assuming it was my outside jack) and could not get any signal. So I decided to try the other two and none of them worked. I know that my outside jack works because I've used it with campground supplied cable tv and had signal. So I then decided to hook up directly to my receiver from the LNB and used the coax output from the receiver and ran RG6 cable from the receiver to the outside jack and took another piece of RG6 coax from the back of the tv to the existing coax inside the unit....got a fuzzy picture. In the past when hooked up to campground cable my picture was clear.
I called WW and asked them if maybe their was some sort of splitter in the line between the outside jack and the inside power-booster and told me that nothing like that was installed.
Thanks

Do you have an ohm meter? Sounds like you have figured out there may be an issue in the line from the outside. I would suggest with everything disconnected from the booster plate inside you measure for a short between the center conductor and outer braid ( I bet a WW screwgun special) and then actually short the cable yourself outside or inside with a paperclip, wire, whatever, and measure the other side to make sure you have continuity from the outside ( shorting at one end you can verify the outer braid and the center conductor are all one piece and not damaged somewhere).
Post what you find... I would hate to have to run another line on my beast, but that may be what you need...

Gentelmen,
Thanks for the input. I figured it out. I decided to pull the outside faceplate off and inspect the wire and connection. I discovered that WW had over crimped the coax and it was damaged. I simply cut off the end and replaced it, everything is working now.

Nice fix... Thats what happens when you use wire crimpers for a coax connection...
