Hey guys, i was just at Glamis this weekend and had a great time( as always) we parked at the washes and saw this balloon floating about 150 ft. above this campsite. It looked like it might have been a weatherballoon or something like that. It was pretty trick because it even lit up at night. I was wondering if you guys have ever seen something like that and if you know were we could buy one. Also i got to try out my banshee for the first time this weekend.(1st yamaha) It was pretty sick except for the cold starts. I would spend like 5 minutes beaten the thing to death trying to get it to start. If you have info on how to deal with that it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Turn the choke on and dont give it any gas.
It should start up.

Hard starts on your banshee is a jetting problem, probobly your pilot jets. Try starting it without the choke. If that works, your jets are to large. If it is worse, your current pilots may be to small. Are you running pipes?

The lit balloons are great for finding your way back to camp at night. On the big weekends, there will be a bunch of them along gecko rd and the wash rd. They are filled with helium and carry an electric cord that runs the light. Sorry, don't know where you can get em.

K.I.S.S.

Try the easy stuff first

It's got pipes on it and i think they jetted it. Not sure though. The welding on the plastics was broken off when we got it. (Probably from trying to start it) I have to use the choke to get it to start even if we take a break thats more than 20 minutes. Thanks
TANK
hey superfly, that was my camp!!!! ya they had just got it, orderd it online someplace took one and a half helium tanks to fill it but dang wasnt that thing sweet?
MRS HAZ
Tank, was that your camp in Wash 12???? We were in 13, and that balloon made an awesome landmark for finding camp!! I think Chummin is gonna be hot on the trail of getting one of those...Legally or otherwise laughing.gif Haz

Superfly, it sounds like your bike is a little lean on the pilot jet. When it's cold, try the choke and twisting the throttle when you kick it. You may have to run a size larger pilot jet to cure that hard start.

If I were you, I'd check the plugs after running the bike through the gears to see if it is lean or rich on the main jet. If you need to know how to do that, let me know and I;ll run you through it.

laughing.gif ya haz that was my crew, was that you guys with the green rope light on a pole? how did you like the firework display lastnight? ...and what the heck were all those low toned bursts?
Chummin
TANK - I have to thank you for the BECON that got us home after each ride......

Can you tell us about that balloon.. we were like cool and all, but when the light came on - we all sat there in awe....
We were in the S side of 13 - thre was only 4 rigs so it was easy getting in on the inner ciricle..
But please let me know more about the balloon.. Im in San Diego and amd looking in to one.

Thanks and glad the Dunes were cool.

BTW, we really enjoyed the fireworks.. icon_smile.gif

Chum, I bought one last year online for around $300, but it was thin and tore easily when it was pushed by the winds into a pucker bush. Buy thick, and use at least three tie points to keep the balloon from shifting too far in a wind (they usualy come with only one rope.)

chummin, our buddy got it online and i think he said the company was down in sd but im not sure and i dont know the website, but about the balloon: helium, came with the halogen light, cord and rope,it has two places to tie it down. the main bottom one that has like a 7 into 1 tie, then a single rope loop on top....it ripped when we were blowing it up but we used a patch it came with and we had no problems the rest of the weekend (obviously) AND! it was visable from back north of olds, small but visable....then at night....words cant describe how it took the challenge(fun) out of finding camp at night icon_biggrin.gif if i find out the website ill be sure to post it here, good luck and ill let my dad know you guys enjoyed the "pyrotechnics" bomb.gif icon_disturbed.gif
