Just picked up 2 new White Bros Pipes for our YFZ 450s and they were in very bad condition..
This wasn't shipping damage, this was factory neglect. Dinged up, scratched up.
Not the White Bros quality I remember.
Also, no provision for the much needed head shield next to your right leg.
Brothers, that pipe is orange hot, about an inch away exposed, and ya need the heat shield.
Anything but White Bros. Their quality and service has really dropped.
SHOCKER

That is wierd, I own a bunch of them and never had problems out of the box, and never were they dinged or scratched. Did you get these mail order or through a regular dealer?
No heat shield? Yikes! The stock one is bad enough you can't ride in shorts! The ones I've seen use the factor heat shield.
Didn't someone else post about how happy they were with WB?

I've had great luck with their products. While I haven't ordered anything from them in several years (Because my old pipe still works fine), I would think you might have got some old stock that hadn't been inspected before it was shipped. I'm almost certain that if you haven't mounted the pipes yet, WB will replace or fix them. You might want to call their customer service so they know what is going on.

That's correct.
Their customer service has collapsed.
When ya call their customer service, you get a "Hey Dude" kid on the phone. The conversation went like this:
"AHHHH, I dunno."
"Ahhh, maybe but I dunno,"
"AHHHH,,, not sure,, I dunno"
Damn,, these pipes were Christmas presents and I gotta get back out and buy something else.
Running without a heat shield is asking for a deluxe trip to the burn ward.
Not my kids.

......White brothers was puchased by a group of investors a year ago. One brother still tinkers around the business, the other has retired.
.....It's always a bummer when the peeps who really care about thier reputation/product sell to some one who is just looking to make money. That's why IN_N_OUT Burger does not franchise.

That explains it.
A teriffic hot dog stand out (Cupids) here started franchiseing about 5 years ago.
Now they really suck.
I had an uncle that owned a meat distribution biz.
He sold 100% of the non grocery store meat in Hawaii and Hong Kong for 50 years. Every restaurant and insitution bought from him.
At age 89 he decided to retire, and sold out the biz to KFC.
KFC figured that if they controled 100% of the meat,, why have sales people collecting comissions? So they fired the sales staff, and the company folded a year later.
After 50 years.
