I've used many, but the best so far, (and cheap) was "Zerorez".. Don't know if they are near you, but the carpet is
clean..

I need low end, dude working out of his truck type stuff.
I told the wife to keep a look out in the mail. It's only 3 rooms and all the furniture will be out. I'm hoping to stay under $60. I don't think it should be a problem.

Rent a carper cleaner at the store you lazy ass! I was pretty damned impressed with the rug doctor when I rented it. It works very well. Don't forget the accessory upholstery hose. That thing made several spots a piece of cake.

If you want to go under $60 then rent one. I used Stanley Steamer when my old condo was vacant and it was about $115 for a tiny condo (under 700 SF).

I doubt you will get anyone to do 3 rooms and a hall for 60 or less. I was in that bidness for a while and there is a huge amount of bait and switch that happens..
they will tell you 59.99 for 3 rooms - then if you want actuall soap - its more - if the carpet is dirty (their idea of dirty can be dust) its even more - by the time you get to cleaning - its well over 100.00..
Not to mention some folks dont have the equipment to get out the liquids they put in and you end up with wet carpets for days on end.
Mica has a Bissel steam cleaner at the house - go get it, pick up the chemicals, and do it yourself. Its working pretty good for us on ours thus far.
If you do hire out - you want truck mounted equipment and you want the advertised price and thats all. No pretreatment or any of that crap..
I have a guy that I believe is $20 per room? Still looking for someone?

I've dealt with carpet cleaners before. The most base, low cost, "sucker deal" cleans it just fine. I'm not dealing with Persian rugs here.
I'll see what I can find in Der Pennysaver

Technically, if you served out your lease and it was at least 12 months...they can't charge your for paint and carpet cleaning. It's against CA renter laws. Where they get you is if they put it in the rental agreement.
I learned that years ago when a landlord tried to screw me and I got a lawyer. I learned that I would never be a landlord because the renter has all the rights.
