I plan on using my stock stator and floating the ground wire.

I plan on running the Trail Tech SC4 HID 40 watt lights. Is this ok with stock stator or should I run the SC4 HID 30 watt ones?
Is there any other HID light that is good but cheaper?

I'm going to be using trail techs Regulator/Rectifier.

What battery would be best for the stock stator?

Thanks Mike

The stock stator will not run that many watts. You may be ok with a single 40 watt HID but you are much better off getting a high output model and having that converted. I run about 140 watts worth of lights on my Banshee. 130 of those watts are HID lights and the rest is just minor items gps and tail light. There are losses when dealing with the conversion so I wouldn't run more than I already do. A good 7 amp hour battery will be good and don't forget to turn off the lights when you stop.

Some guys have had bad luck with RS. I never had an issue with the electric portion of the Banshee stators but did have a problem with one of the mounting screws getting loose and the cheap lock washers backing out. If you do get one from them replace the 3 screws that mount the stator to the timing plate with some better quality bolts and you should be fine. I'll have to get some pictures of what I do next time I have a conversion come across my plate.
