Just bought a graphics kit for my banshee which came with a seat cover. Got the latest "N-Style" kit new on ebay for $25.00 bucks so I couldn't pass on it.

The graphics were easy but the seat is going to be a challenge. Has anybody recovered the seat themselves? Are there any tricks? Do you remove the old vinyl? How do you get the cover the not pucker at the inner hump? Or do I take it to an upulstery shop and have them do it.

Thanks,

'Bob

shop is easiest, to help work the material over the bumps and stuff use a hair dryer to heat it up so it is more flexable.

i got my seat cover redone. i bought a skin industries graphics kit w/ seat cover and i tried to do it myself and there was too much slack so i took it down and got it done for like $22. looked 10 times better than if i was gonna do it.

Take it to a shop.

It's easier, faster and better. With $20 it gets done in one hour.

If you have a staple gun it's not that hard, I did my seat on my quad.

Start by placing the cover on the ground up side down. Remove the seat from the fender and pull out the staples holding the cover on. Take notice how the seat cover is attached to the seat. Start by pulling the mat'l on both sides making sure the back of the seat cover is in place and even then put a couple of staples to hold it in place and do this from back to front until it's in the right position. It's ok to pull out staples to reposition the mat'l.

The new seat cover should have a band of vinyl that is for stapling the seat cover to the plastic seat shell. Once the seat cover is in place boil some water to make steam hold the seat with the cover facing the steam. you should notice that where the seat rolls up to meet the gas tank it's not tight, this is were the steam comes in. Hold that part of the seat near the steam until it shrinks to fit then you are done... Remount the seat to the fender....
SHOCKER
I put one on and it was easy
