You have to be part of the click. The click has moved onto farm equipment. Thats why no sand cars..

I think the economy has hit everything including the EPO program. I am excited after 2 years of asking to see the SxS's get a chance but so many people cant make it this year it has to be tough making these happen. Everybody I know that had buggies had to park them this year because they had to work to survive.

7 years of epo and there is a sxs epo and people are crying .

cant everyone have a blast in the dunes no matter what you ride or drive

Nope. I meet more new people at EPO's than any other event. Slappy sends the Golden Ticket out to a diverse group which in turn gets more people involved in something so awesome. You might notice some of the same faces staff wise but that is not a clique- they are simply people Slap can count on. Heading out a couple days early for a weekend is hard to pull off for many plus not a lot of peeps are looking to give up an entire day of duning to help out.

I would be interested in taking my kids to this. Is there a date and time?

It makes me LAUGH really laugh when people say you have to be part of a "click" or "inner circle" or whatever and why aren't we running this group or that group???? If ANY of YOU and I mean ANY of YOU realized what it took to put on one of these events and how WE do it for ALL of YOU then it would be a different story...The Event Staff take days off of work to come and help out just to provide the BEST event they can for ALL.....Like scotty said how about everyone come enjoy the dunes and see what the future Holds..Throughout all the Years we have done this we have sure tried to make as many of you smile that we could..I Look forward to seeing ALOT of you next time...

Not that anyone cares about my .02 but here goes! I dont own a sxs so the chances of me going to one is slim to none.I do however own a buggy and would love to participate in that! You may have been having epos for seven years but not everyone has been a member that long to have gotten the chance to go. On top of that, this conversation is really on the hush hush so if you are new you never hear about it! There hasnt been one for buggies( that i know of) since i became a member. Im thinking there is alot more people out there that feel the same way. Also, i dont think you can make a track better for any certain cars. You can either drive or you cant!

I got in, sort of

OKay, so I have been reading the threads, watching the videos and in general really enjoying the EPO events.....I wake up yesterday Morning, at the tail end of a very vivid dream.....here's the setup I have a Funco big five gen 2, it's the mini van of the sand, I know it but I love it, it can haul my kids, it runs out real well and it dunes great, The dream.....My buddy Chuck and I pull into Gecko loop, it's dark (most always is when we arrive), we unload, put the flags up (The camp flags US over Oklahoma, always the very first thing I do), we then unload the car, someone is shouting my name and saying "your up", we hop in the car and drive over to a large group and ask if they're looking for me, "yes, your up, your on deck, 5 minutes, I must look confused and this fella, who looks a lot like wash11, explains that it's my turn or I forfiet my $200. entry fee and goes on to ask where my car is, to which I say I'm in it, he starts laughing and looks downinto, what looks like an entry into an underground parking garage and shouts "he's here and he's in a mini van", he must get a response (all I hear is muted yelling) he turns back to me, looks my car over, with a sneer on his face, and says that I can drive the course, but not timed, and no hanky panky....I ask what that means and he says that I can't do anything that would hurt anyone and that I'm not gonna be allowed to have any tires leave the ground and that furthermore EPO is going to assign someone to ride with me, in order to control the car.....WTF!!!!, I asked for an explanation and someone, who looked a lot like J.D. jumped in the backseat and yelled "go!", well we took off and in between yelling at me to keep it under 10 mph he kept yelling "WEEEEE" everytime we crested a small rise or made a banking turn......thank God my alarm went off I used to dream about rabbits all the time, and yes I know what that implied, but after four children and went down and had me one of them Vascectomy operations and the rabbit dreams stopped, to bad the rabbit dreams included magic rabbits, surfing rabbits, gymnastic rabbits, talking rabbits etc......
