I just read the disclaimers on my Insurance policy with State farn for my rail. Though you guys might have the same clause in all the policies. If anything happens I was in the dunes on the flats.
" There is no coverage for: Any Vehicle while Operated in or used in practice or perparation for any" (1) Hill-climbing or jumping contest or (2) racing or speed contest."
Looks like they don't like the drags or the hill. Just a FYI for everyone.

Contest could be your key word there

Exactly. Racing increases your chances since you are pushing the limits with another car very close by doing the same thing. That's a huge liability.

I'd bet there is similar language for your street cars too...that usually applies to warranty coverage as well.

I think you will see alot of the buggy builders gone this year and probably is going to be more of a side by side show with this kinda economy. I think the dunes will be making a change and you will see more side by sides in the next years, Side by sides are just more reliable and affordable. Nomore 20k dollar motors and 15k dollar trannys. What do you guys think?
QUOTE (Frostic Air @ Aug 17 2008, 09:45 PM)

More and more side by sides this year buggy dealers will fade with this economy i feel you will see the Side by Side industry take over the dunes, no more 20k dollar motors and 10k dollar trannys plus the side by side is way more useable in the off season when a 80k dollar car just sets there. What do you guys think?

I had foremost, and they raised my rates 200 bucks, then I went to state farm and they haven't changed since...
No insurance cover racing or competition of any type.... If you had a eliminator boat and you were racing it, your insurance wouldn't cover it...

...that is the regular language. We have the same language in our policy. And, they will ask you those two questions in about 10 different ways before they pay. As long as you are not doing either of those, State Farm will pay and they will pay fast. State Farm has been very good to us.

Just keep in mind: Insurance companies are in business to
not pay claims, not the other way around. And they have much better lawyers than you do. There's a reason most disclaimers are a little vague...

Thanks OB but the cost was much less with my company. However Jeff did say the higher cost from foremost was due to AZ laws. It would be great if someone that understand all of that to explain it in simple terms???

I can second that also with Foremost, claims have all gone well. The few companies that write these type of policies (a total of 3 that I know of) are all reputable companies and are not going to try and not pay a claim when coverage is there. Jeff

Arizona is the only state that allows basically an off-road vehicle to drive on road with a few mods. That creates an additional exposure - on road use and Foremost in Az. covers that exposure which increase premium because of the additional risk.

HDwrench and surf&dune-full coverage includes comp and collision (you crash you are covered)?
If so your prices sure seem low.
Insurance Girl- will State Farm write 'new' sand car policies or just renew existing policies?

Yep, full coverage. I claim my cars worth $70,000, comp and collision. Only thing not covered is fungi, and radiation. (no joke its in there)
Two things, I've never made a claim in 24 yrs., and I've had the same agent. Maybe that helps?
