Want to add a large Plasma or LCD TV to my ww3705. I have an idea of a tilt down mount that mounts to the shelf above the main area right after the kitchen. I have never found a use for this overhead space and wonder if I could fab a mount that when not in use could tilt the TV up to some level of flatness against the shelf. I think it would work but has anyone done something like this?

Thanks

The first post might help.

I added a 32 Inch LG flat panel to the storage spot above the kitchen. I got the idea from MonsterLimo on the board. It doesn't tilt back and its a pain in the ass to get the TV down, but I don't plan on taking it down. Here are a few pictures. Since the pictures, I've taken it back down and painted it and found caps for the bolts that stick through the bottom of the shelf.

I mounted an LCD panel to the bedroom ceiling. I used thin stainless cable they sell at Home Depot to suspend it, and velcro straps to hold it in viewing position or up against the ceiling for transport.

Those stainless cables are ultra strong, the tricky part is attaching it to something with enough support.

WaPaWeKkA, So during trans do you remove the TV? Does the mount tilt up for storage? my shelf is flat above the shelf not sloped like your pics but it should work the same way.

Thanks

I remove the TV before going down the road. I've been told by several people that the shelf will hold but I just can't stomach opening the door and the TV has destroyed itself on the floor. I'm going to start doing some testing by me being in the trialer and my girlfriend driving down the road to see how much flex the shelf has and if it can withstand the bumps and dips of the 10 and 86. It doesn't tilt up. I'm 6'1" and i don't hit the bottom of the tv when I walk under it.

Here's pics of mine. Just a 2x4 wall that is screwed into the supports in the shelf and the ceiling, then added the wall mount for the tv to that. 40" sony LCD and I never take it down and it hasn't fallen yet.

Is Wired For Sound still in business? I was thinking of calling them up to get a custom setup done....I want to seperate the speakers in my front bedroom from the rest for surround sound in there and install a flat screen in the main area as well but tap into the speakers (Kicker system) for suround sound and be able to switch back for tunes.

Anyone aware of any other place that can do it?

Thats what I want to do. that looks cool very nice. Thanks for the pics and did you use the standered wall mount that you can get from Best Buy?

Try the Sanus wall mounts. they are the best i have ever used. You can use the tilting feature without issue. Tilts with one finger and balanced perfect.
