Do you think the SSSS will have as many vendors this year? What about attendees? We are planning on having an indoor booth there and have a high-definition film crew with RBP Television coming to film at the event.
Due to the economy and many fabricators going out of business, do you think the show will be alot less happening this year? I hope the show goes well and that there is still a great deal of business to be done.

Not gonna happen. The lady that runs the show (and yes, i know her personally) is very picky about who she lets vend there, and what products they will have to display. It's a quality show by design, not by accident.

100% agree about this being a quality show! This will be our 10th year in this show and look very much forward to it! We've always had great business from this show and there is always a waiting list for exhibitors. I really don't see it being slow. As far as I know all of our customers and friends are still coming.

I think the show will be slightly smaller, but it will be going from way too big and overcrowded, to a little less crowded. There will still be plenty of vendors, but I think a lot fewer buyers than in the past. Everyone is feeling the pinch and scaling back on both exhibits and purchasing.
I think the biggest reduction will be in shoppers, with fewer people willing to travel long distances to be there, like from AZ. I doubt many people will buy a rail at the show, a person would have to be an idiot to buy something sitting in a booth without driving it in the dunes.
I've always enjoyed walking around and looking at the rails, chatting with the builders, checking out the talent. There were almost too many to cover it all in 2.5 days.
I think it's to the exhibitor's advantage to have a slightly smaller show. There's the right size, and then there's just too big. Last yr, the promoter promised to ban strollers and wagons at this yr's show, let's see if he remembers that promise.

This will be my first time at this show. Looking forward to it. Dont really plan on buying anything big, but just want to check out all the stuff, and get some ideas for my car. I think we're staying at the hyatt, somewhere by the beach. Making it a 3 day weekend away from the heat. What are the days like, crowd wise, I know at other shows, saturday is usually slammed and sunday is slower. How about friday night??

If the last 4 yrs are any indication, Fri nite is crowded with a lot of people reuniting in the walkways and partying late that night. Sat is full of people wandering around, Sun is a lot less crowded.

The one in May is ALWAYS much smaller. The one right before the official season kickoff is always HUGE. and yes, friday nites is setting up and meeting up, reuniting, etc...saturday is insanity and sunday is more for the "ive walked this whole thing TWICE and NOW im ready to spend some money" along with all the family types.

Best thing to do is be there Friday night when the gates open, RUN over to the Cycle Parts West boooth, and see what smoking deals they have on last years gear!!
Anything decent will be gone in an hour or so. I wait for this, and buy all of my riding gear there. Your right, Sat. afternoon is a Zoo, but it's also when all the best talent is on display!

Hopefully it is a Sell Out with lots of cool stuff to see and buy.
If your thinking of buying something wait for the show and help make the show a success. This show is a big thing for all of us (Builders, Vendors, Customers and Newbie's) and our sport that we all enjoy. This is the time of year that we all get excited about the upcoming season and start planning our trips with family and friends so lets try and stay positive.
Sorry for the "Inspirational Rant" but in case your wondering I also do company meetings, pre-game team speeches, school and church gatherings etc. for a small fee!

From what we are being told the show is sold out.
As for last year we had a really good show and we were stuck all the way in the back of the show, we sold a couple of 40ft 5th wheels and other floor plans, we sold every floor plan we had there on display in fact we will have two displays this year, and so far our two largest dealers in CA are up in sales from last year not by much but they are still up 15%.
We need to remember the people who lost there homes and there toys where people who really didn't have the credit to own a home or the expensive toys in the first place and where able to pull this fake money out of there homes are now the only one's who are gone. Look at SXS market sales and other toys that are still making it. The market is only on how you wish to view it yes we are not selling as much as previous years but we are still selling more items then the late 90's.
Just my .02
I love this industry and hope everyone has a good time at SSSS I've been going there since the very first show.

I suppose I could understand someone buying a trailer at hte show, you get to see the layout and they are enticing you with "show special pricing", but it's always struck me as being a bit high pressure. I can't imagine buying a rail or a Rhino or similar at the show without having driven one first.
I usually buy my season pass and some food at the show. In previous years I bought seatbelts, tow straps, and techni-ice, but I've got all of that I need now, so this yr it will be just the pass and some food.
Maybe a few cokes to water down my rum a bit.

i took my wife there to see the warriors 2 years ago. she liked the cr floor plan. so we ordered one a few months later from shawn. the show special price they had (giant rv) was a friggin joke. they were willing to take 5k off the sticker price, + tax, + lic +doc. i got mine otd 13k less than sticker from shawn.
i usually bring some cash for atv stuff. last year i picked up an axcalibur axle for my raptor for 230 bux. they are well over 3hundy retail. year before i got some +2 laegers arms, elka shocks, stainless braided brake lines, clamps for 900. im kinda broke this year, so i will probably only be able to get me a few beers, and maybe something small.
