ok m bike is on its third season and i was curious about some info since no one in my crew owns a banshee except my brother.
when his bike was on its third season his clutch went out. i think it was cuz he let someone ride it that didnt know how to ride and the person smoked the clutch. my question is roughly how long does a banshee clutch last? i ride mostly dirt over sand eventhough i ride gordons and glamis too. id say its a 75% dirt 25% sand riding ratio. should i be worried my clutch is gonna go out or am i fine for the season?
also i hear aftermarket race clutches are good but you have to replace them every few years. i dont want to have to do that. also i hear there is a street bike clutch from an old yami motor that works in the banshee as well. how does that last far as riding and i hear it can hit hard at times cuz it likes to grab real quick (no slip). i am just curious what one works best for everyone.
thanks

My clutch is on it's seventh season. I don't clutch it while duning but at the hill, I abuse it bad. I think it is about time to replace it but it still doesn't slip under normal riding. Two up heats up the oil so I assume the clutch is slipping a little bit with the extra weight.

my clutch lasted for many many years, but I rode it sensible. I would say stay with the stock clutches, or a Barnett clutch. Those "puck" clutches WILL ruin gears and wear your components out which means big $$$. A clutch is an easy replacement and only about 100 bones. (parts) Yes, people who are not good riders will burn it and cause slipping, I learned the hard way too...
Be sure to replace the metal as well as the actual clutch plates, and springs....Banshees do not like re-used poor man repair jobs...

IT IS NOT HARD TO REPLACE ONE. MY BROTHER RAN A STOCK CLUTCH AND
METAL SPACERS WITH FZR 600 SPINGS ON HIS EXTREMLY MODIFIED BANSHEE
FOR YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER

If you think your clutch is wearing to quickly you might want to check and make sure that your clutch cable has a little play in it. I've had many seasons on my stock clutch, and have had to noticable problems with it slipping.
