I've seen a couple posts about people not fixing their cars right now; I don't understand this? Fixing is definitely cheaper than buying new? Are you a mechanic or body guy? I'm just trying to understand whats going on out there.

My guess is they are doing it themselves to save money or have just decided to drive it till the wheels fall off.

yea, its getting rough. im a tech for VW and alot of people are trading their older cars in for new ones that they can lease real cheap. like has been said, we are hearing alot of 'if it isnt warranty, dont fix it'. if ya think about it tho, it comes down to either fixing their cars and not making a house payment or make the house payment and keep driving an effed up car for now. brakes metal to metal? ill keep driving it for now

yep too bad they don't do away with emissions testing and start doing safety checks.
might at least get some work out of that.
but then nothing like a 28 hour pay check for half a month also.
need out of this business for one thing.

gotta give a big thanks to Mike330R for sendin a nice lil tow over my way. had the pleasure of meeting mr. beckley and towing his new digs home to boulder creek, ca (just north of santa cruz) from rancho cucamonga. not the heaviest trailer ive pulled, but definately the biggest. the dmax had no problems with it, towed great! it was about a 500 mile tow up there and then was able to take highway 1 from monteray down to san luis obispo on the way home. beautiful drive. total miles driven this weekend: 1,055 round trip
much thanks to mike and jeff

With the tall front end on that big red trailer, it looks like you're towing a barn backwards!

You didn't pass under any really low bridges, obviously. I wonder what the lowest bridge height is?
I've seen some ridiculously low (and narrow) overpasses back on the east coast, obviously left over from before cars were invented. Back there, you'd have to stick to he main fwys, there are a lot of small roads and narrow lanes that have never been upgraded.
