All white is the way to go and the least amount of maintenance to keep it looking clean. Interior looks great.

Thanks TNT!! It is coming along really nicely I think. I can't wait to see it when ALL is said and done!! For that matter.....We can't wait till it's ALL done and we are in the Dez enjoying the fruits of our labor. yay.gif

It looks awsome!! I would also sugguest all white or a lighter color. Its eiser to keep clean and does not attract heat the way that the darker colcors do. Our motorhome in the warmer months get really hot inside compaired to the lighter color ones.

Thanks Mang!!! It will be cooler in the heat for sure!! You will just have to wear sunglasses standing next to it lmao.gif

Here is the original guesstimate below...

10k max..... Hoping for a little less.
$3900.00 interior
$3500.00 bodypaint single color
$350.00 full dash paint
$1000.00 guesstimate for mechanical stuff
$1200.00 two color graphics with clear

Here is the revised cost guesstimates for Gucci MoHo Makeover..........
Interior ended up being $4000.00 exzactly
Dash paint was $350.00 as planned
Paint actually went down to $3000.00 exzactly
We spent $120.00 at Walts RV for all the silver hardware and silver lights
I guesstimate another $125.00 at Walts for a few silver items we still need as well as a little bit of silver paint
I still think around a $1000.00 for the mechanical stuff

I calc that out to be $8595.00 total so I'm gonna say it's safe to say that I will be 9k or less in the complete ready to go camping overhaul!!! So......that's good news!!!!

Also I had a target date of completion to be 10-18-08. Exzactly 30 days from the start of this project. I'm supposed to pick it up from the painter on Monday and if it took me the REST of the week PLUS all day Saturday for all the rest of it that would put me 1 week early for my completion date!! yay.gif

Sooooo........ Right now it is going better than planned in all areas!! I'm VERY confident in the painter so I think the deciding factor and true test of time and budget will be determined once it gets home and I finish my end of cosmetical AND mechanical. I will update this week with paint progress pics!!! stay tuned yay.gif yay.gif

I would ask him what you should do to keep the paint looking new, wax every 3 mos, Don't wash for first month, etc.

for sure!! Probabally what you just said is the protocall for keeping it nice longer. He will parrot that same thing I'm sure.

Ok.......here is an update. I'm supposed to be in Gardena tomorrow at 12:00P.M. to pick up the MoHo yay.gif yay.gif
So far I keep getting ahead of scheldue every time I turn around!! I'm Lovin' it!! I also just realized yesterday that I move machines for a guy that owns a auto repair joint in Corona so I went and seen him today and he is figuring out for me the good buddy cash smoker price for me for all the mechanical stuff. I think by the time I go buy parts and have my guy help me work on it for two days it will turn out to be cheaper to have my customer do it for me. I can probabally get some credit also because I have to go to his place and put his new dyno in a pit as soon as the concrete guy finishes his end. yay.gif

Well......my guy that I thought was gonna "hook me up" is outa his mind. For new oil and filter, spark plugs, coil wires, air cleaner filter, new top and bottom radiator hoses, flush radiator, new alt-fan belt and inspect brakes he wants $900.00 plus tax. bugsy2.gif

Who knows someone local to me (San Bernardino) that might be a little more realistic. I think a G to do that is CRAZY!!! dunno.gif

It kinda looks like I'm back to doing it myself. Dont wanna blow the budget for minor stuff like that.......
ChuckZilla
The place I told you about will probably charge you just as much, but is closer than Corona.

Well......there goes the budget!!! Just bought this Genny off a board member for $1300.00
It has 49 hours on it and is a 50 amp service and will replace our Genarac that is currently in our MoHo. The genny in our MoHo works awsome but is pretty loud and that bothered me ALOT. I said in the begining that I wanted to upgrade it at some point and was bored this morning looking through old posts and came across this genny!!! Thanks 3dooleyz yay.gif yay.gif

You'll be happy with the 5500.

Buy the Onan filter wrench right off the bat.

I tried ever other wrench before finding the Onan cap-type wrench.

Ok......here is the latest update.

Just got back from 3dooleyz a little bit ago and scooped up the Genny which just like his ad said is like brand new!! Met him and his wifey and they are very cool peeps!! Thanks for the hookup on the Onan 3dooleyz and family!! yay.gif

That was the good.

The bad......

NO MOHO TODAY!!!!!!! dunno.gif

Called the painter today and the MoHo had some cracks that i guess they did not see or something and they have to re sand the whole thing over again and start over with a different seal coat or something like that dunno.gif I guess when they painted it there was something he did not like and is redoing the whole thing dunno.gif He is talking like Tuesday now and the good thing is no extra charge to me for this other seal coat that was a charge before but he let me off the hook for it now!! So.......cool! I'm glad he is taking care of it for me!! I will say thus far I'm very happy with all the people doing the work on this thing and will refer them all when it's done!!

The indifferent.......

The new Genny put me over budget a little but now I'm gonna do ALL the mechanical myself as well as install the new Genny myself. Actually.......with the money I can get for the old genny I think I will still be under budget and even with the paint setback I will still be ahead of scheldue. No cause for panic yet!!! yay.gif

I will update soon arg.gif

Dr, I tried it but its a plastic one and just spun. The filter was tighter than heck.

I finally ended up with the Onan, its metal and less than $10.

Nice job keep up the good work. Does the 900.00 include parts? If so that 900.00 doesn't seem to out of line. You could call around if you decide to not do it yourself.

Well......there goes the budget!!!

Since the budget is blown you may want to get a AGS (Automatic Generator Starter). I have one and love it. Supreme Air just got one on his rig. They are awesome. You can set them to start the generator whenever your batteries get too low. Even has a time selector which prevents from starting if you are camping in a "quiet time" facitlity.

Thats funny you say that. I was just eyeballin this on the Onan website because I will need a new Gen switch anyway because I currently have a Genarac. This one does all that plus it will turn on your AC's and some other stuff also. But it does say on the website that install is VERY involved. What does that one you have cost and how hard is the install?!?!

I don't have the one in the picture. Ask Supreme Air, he just installed his. Mine came from the factory. I don't think Aaron's and mine were hard to install since it really just controls the generator. Never have to worry about your batteries running down again...... yay.gif

Good job on the moho OB!

I have an 1985 36' gasser that is just beggin to get the same treatment, and this thread has peaked my interest for some next summer remodeling. I will be dropping it off at G this weekend for the whole season, so too late to start now. Darn =).

Keep up the good work. Do the mech stuff yourself, it isnt that hard.

Hope to check it out at G.

Last year I sold my 1998 33' Motorhome that was paid for for a newer one with a slide and payments. I wish my older one had a slide and then I could have done a remodel like yours.

When I bought the old one 5 years ago I was too cheap to pay the extra $10k for a slide out. THat cost me about $60K.

i installed this auto start system in my trailer very easy to use and only 180.00 ..

^^^ That's cool, but I like the idea of it going on based on battery level, so when the flood lights are on or the heater is on I don't have to worry about battery drain.

I'm for sure doing the mechanical stuff myself now that I have to install a new different brand genny so it will only take a few extra hours now that it will be inside my shop with tools and stuff dug out. I was just starting to get a LIL lazy AND anxious but staying in budget superceeds instant gratification!! I will start a new thread soon about the Company's that hooked me up and went waaay above and beyond. Thanks for the Kudo's Bro!!! 2nd.gif
