10 qts gear lube. I prefer redline shock proof heavy.

^^X2 ^^

10 quarts. Redline Shock Proof Gear oil.

Best way we have found to do it. Of coarse drain it; by removing the skid plate and pull the allen plug on the bottom of the tranny.
On the opposite side of the ring gear adjustment bolt (the brass bolt) there is a filler plug. On a rear engine car
it will be on the right side. I took a 90w gear oil container type bottle that has the pointy tip cap on it, dumped it into a different container
and cut the bottom off it and punched 2 small holes in it. I got a 3 ft rubber hose and pushed it onto the tip and the took a couple of zip-ties, ran them
through the small holes and attached the container to my chassis just above the rear tire (above the tranny). Put the hose into the filler hole, and started
filling. After 3 ICRB and a turkey sandwich the tranny was full ( it fills really SLOW ) Put the plug back in and the skid plate back on, and your back in business.

Heavy Redline

What he said. I found a small sandpiper air pump to suck out any metal or oil that won't drain out of the case, then use it to fill er up. A little faster than gravity but the same results.

I know that many guys love the redline products, Myself only use Torco, as well if you give the guys a call up at Weddle they will tell you that torco is a better product and that is what they recommend and use. SGO 75/90 or the 75/140. We became a torco dealer. We build Harley's for a living, and I can say 100% that after switching over to torco that was the best we move we ever made for lubricates. We use to be a stocking redline dealer, nuf said there. If you decide you want torco drop me aline be happy to drop ship it to you or see you in the dunes with it.

I used the 75/140 as that is the same weight I use in the trans on the big inch strokers we build. Weddle was ok with the weight as well.

Weddle recommends the Swepco 140. It takes a tick under 2 gallons for ours.

I haven't heard of anyone having a problem down shifting.

My tranny scratches/grinds a little when I shift fast from 2nd to 3rd at really high rpm's, bumping the rev limiter. I have talked to several that have the same set up as "us" and most say they get the same scratch at high rpm's between 2nd & 3rd.

What shifter are you running?
