I want to run some extra lights on the Teryx but can't mount them on the top of the cage or it won't fit in my WW. Anybody got any ideas and pictures?

Looks nice, but I'm not looking to spend that kind of money on that light bar.

On a side note, how do you like the tire set up you have? I bought the exact same set but haven't tried them out yet.

Get with Wheelie Bar on the board. A set of his HID conversions is all you'll really need.

I'm getting in touch with him for the conversion. Just though I'd add a little more. I won't really know how much light those throw off until I get them in.

get some tube mounts and mount some small lazerstar or trailtech mr16's to the bumper. or buy and aftermarket bumper that has light mounts for bigger lights, wheelie bar can sell you converted eagle eyes for cheap that kick gluteous maximus. More is better. Once you start adding hid's you get spoiled and want more

Here is a complete light kit but not HID

Or here is a bar and get 3 of the Kragens HID they also sell a 2 light bar.

If your running external HIDs would it be better to mount them higher, like on the cage, as opposed to in front like the lght bar shown in the post above? Or does it matter?

I've been thinking of doing the stock light HID replacement but one issue I have is the fact of how bright they are (could that be a problem). I have trail-tech mr16's on my raptor, & they are super bright & almost obnoxious in camp. Yeah who rides in camp? But it would be nice to have a less bright light option by retaining the stock lights & having seperate HIds for the night rides.

go with the kragen hid's, they are really good for the money, only 100-120ish range, mount them on the a pillar like a cops lights, the higher they are the less shadows there are, i use 2 hids there and the hid stock inserts and it is plenty.. paying for eagle eyes or vision x is a waste to me IMO, all hid's are made in china, they are super cheap to make and the big companys sell them for 20X what they pay for them..

I think thats what the problem is.

I don't have great pics of the front, but I drilled holes in the top of my Rhino bumper, then pulled the caps off the end. Using a coat hanger as a "bolt gripper", I threaded the bolts through the bumper facing up, then jb welded/bolted the light bases to the bumper. I ground off the excess length of the bolts with an angle grinder, and mounted the lights on the top of the bumper. I first used three standard rubber sided utility-flood lights, but they're not good for distance. I had to budget (just had twins, can you say "diapers"?) so I picked up three 55w halogen spots from 4 wheel parts for 62 bucks. These surely won't be throwing the light of some of the nice fuego HID's, but they wont be costing me a grand I don't have right now...(maybe someday the HID'S will arrive.. dunno.gif )

Just get the cheap HID lights from Kragen and mount them on your front bumper. Just weld some tabs and mount them. I would also recommend getting the stock replacement HIDs. You can never have enough light.

Even the stock replacement HIDs put out a good amount of light.

I love these lights. They put out as much as the acros on my rail. No welding needed just a billet clamp if you dont want to weld a tab.

When we were in Glamis this weekend. We took it out Sunday night. The stock lights weren't that bad. They projected pretty far. I already bought the HID stock replacements. I didn't get them until Monday. I'll install them before my next trip and see if I can go without aftermarket lights all together.

dont put them on the bumper, the a pillars are way better, the higher you can get them the better they work with less shadows...

I have the conversions, 2 Kragen HID's, and 2 Baja Designs HID's on my Rhino. With only the 2 Kragen HID's and the conversions on, it's plenty.

I would like them up on the top of the cage, but they'll stick up too high for my transport and they'll get knocked around (or off) by low branches where I ride a lot. (I've snapped two whips so far this year) I thought about mounting them in clamps on the front of the cage above the hood, but I seem to have an issue with the glare cast up from the light reflecting off of the hood, especially in the powdery desert dust I seem to find myself in... and things on the sides of my Rhino seem to get smacked by branches and twigs a lot.. When they're down lower and in front of me I seem to be able to see clearer in the haze. I had Davin at DG Rhinos weld a tube over the top of them for a bit of protection and a different look. So far, I can't complain..:-)

I think those kragens are obnoxiously big and dumb looking. You can get converts that work better imho for only 25-50 more per light than kragen/checker lights. More is better for sure. I have a total of 7 hid's. 2 stock replacements, 2 trailtech mr16's on bumper and then 3 eagle eye oval converts on the my light bar. When all on it is like the sun came out! We do a lot of night riding.
this is with the 2 stock converstins:
