I was out for a rip on my lifan 125/70 and got busted by a cop! I was at least hoping too get a year of riding my hood before getting caught! The violations were shaved from three to one. He wrote me a ticket for operation of an ohrv on a public way. I also have to appear in court! Hopefully just a fine and no points on my clean record!

I got caught riding my buddies klx 110 a couple of years back. ( less the 24 hr old). The cop gave me 4 tickets. No helmet, no motorcycle license, no registration, and no headlight. And a to top it off he even impounded it. Then he told me that he was going to use me as an example to other people that are ridding dirt bikes in the streets. I also had to see the Judge, but that was no problem, he took out some tickets if I pleaded guilty he would lower my fines. So I did. If I remember, the fines were 500+, but pleading guilty I ended paying around 200. I also had to pay for the impound witch was 350. So I feel that you lucked out, it could have been worse. Good luck with the Judge.....

Sorry about the ticket. I occasionally have to take a trip around the hood to make sure everything works. I haven't been pulled over yet. I guess it helps to have a neighbor that is a local cop.

I'll take an ass chewing over a ticket , especially an evading police, no helmet , unregistered atv on the street, doing about 45 in a 25 ticket. Yeah I know, I should have been wearing my helmet

I suggest fighting it... maybe you will get a nice judge. My story would be this...
Your Honor... I spent the last 5 months building this from a rusty piece of crap that my father gave me. After he passed away last year I felt the need not only to rebuild this but to restore it. When Officer arsehat pulled up I was tuning the motor I just built and it is very difficult to justify a 3 hour trip to an approved designated riding area for a 15 minute tune.

When we bought my wife's atc70 from Poule43 here on the board... we got it home and unloaded about 8:30pm and I wanted to take it for a spin! Ran it down the street and on my way up a sherriff stopped me! I told him I just bought it and was taking it for a test run... I am on my way to park it! He said thank you, have a good night! Sorry you had a clown that felt the need to measure his stick with your ticket! Seems a little excessive and I think a judge would agree!

Guys,
These are NOT TOYS!!!!! Moral of the story...Be careful out there. The atc 70 is a fierce and powerful machine NEVER to be used on the street...I mean NEVER!!!!
The consequences could be life changing.......Your neighbors will see you and then go buy one!.......Kids may see you and ask their parents to sell their quads and buy them 70's instead of quads..............We may end up re living the 1980's............Chummin may want to ride a atc 70 in the

parade and grow back his mullet...............These things are like DRUGS!! Very addictive...............
The epidemic is seriously spreading through the GD.COM community at epic proportations.....SLAPPY himself was walking thru the dunes the other day and came up with the idea of an EPO atc 70 race!!!!

Be careful out there fellow duners. The atc 70 is on the loose and may be passing thru your neighborhood!!!!
Be Safe out there peeps....BE SAFE!!!!

For those who asked, I live in N.H. And thanks for all the responses! I guess I feel a bit better about the whole deal. I have to got to court and I am going to BS the judge a bit! Its worth a shot to at least drop the points on my record! BTW anyone got a good sprocket set up, My 125 has a useless 1st gear and tachs out quick not to mention 4th also, I would like to at least think I can out run the po's next time. Right now I am running the stock rear sprocket, stock chain and a tooth smaller than stock on the front. Its an 85.

Man, never got busted for cruising on a (70) had a few pocket bikes and gas scooter (big foot) used to supervise the neighbor hood kids and mine when riding had helmets and what not. One officer stoppped one of kids and was being a prick, of course i asked the kid to bring the pocket bike back and i waited for the officer to talk. For some unknown reason the officer felt he needed to flex

i did my best to be respectful to the officer in front of all the kids, but did notify the officer that behaving in this manner in front of the kids is a bad example. Nothing happend except a few exchanged words all power toys where returnned to the garage, and life went on,,,,,
Let us know how much you got ticketed for...

Well I went to court today and got offf real nice! They offered me a $100 fine or 8 hours Communty service for no fine and no record of the violation. So I took the community service! I guess my clean record helped me out...or maybe it was because I was the only defedant not wearing sweat pants and dressed properly despite my 7 inch mohawk.

I remember the first month after moving in to my house. Had a neighbor who "tested" his CR500 every once in awhile pulling a wheelie down the street, around a turn. Well, first time I see him do this, the street had just been re paved, fresh, oily asphalt. I hear the rev, look up, and see him in a wheelie through the turn and bam!, slide out on the asphalt, guy's wearing shorts. He picks up the bike, walks it back to his garage, a little embarrassed and some nice "rash".
He became a close friend after 11 years, we still laugh about that "test run".
I used to drive my tri zinger 60 in circles across the front lawn, fun wheelie machine. Local PD just looked me and laughed.
