I was wondering if I should get the rhino or teryx. Any info would be helpful.
oldschoolrhin
i have ownened both. if you are going to buy used i would get a rhino. you can get one with alot of aftermarket parts on it for a great prie right now. if you are going to buy new it is hands down the teryx. less money and fare more power with the new teryx
AZDUNERAT
09 teryx will have DFI, just a thought.

i agree 100% with oldschool. i know of several used rhinos that are so sick for the money, how much do you plan to spend now and will you add on later, cuz if your going to dump money in it like we all do, i would buy a used one that is pretty much done, as in has all the goodies, for 15-19k you can get a 07 0r 08 that has like 15k in aftermarket stuff on it and has really low miles. i know of one now that is absolutely insane for 19k, im sure that means more like 17 or 17.5, it is just gone thru and looks sick, it is an 08 and has only like 500 miles on it, these things drop like a rock after a year or so, i know first hand, i have about 30k in mine and i probably couldnt get 15 for it. dont buy new now, it is a buyers market on used rhinos!!!!!!!

I was just in the market for both and decided to go with a new Teryx. There were plenty of nice Rhino's out there but I didn't want something with a lot of aftermarket engine parts as I associate stock with reliability. I'm happy with the stock power. Plus, with buying a new one you get a warranty and I'm a sucker for warranties.

id still end up spending over 20k to build a new teryx.
9600 for new teryx
5000 for LT
2000 for cage doors and roof
600 tires and wheels/paddles
2000 exhaust, intake, clutch, programmer/cdi
thats 19,600 alone right there,
the list goes on and on, youll be surprised how fast it adds up,
you can get all that and more in a used rhino, i would definitely stay away from ones with more than just bolt on engine stuff, i say that as i just dropped another 3k on a proshop 686 with ron woods exhaust and a webcam, you can find a ton that have all the bolt on stuff and just have a clutch, cdi, intake, exhaust, and nothing more to the engine, all that stuff adds up too,
IMHO, buy a used rhino with all the bolt ons and not much motor stuff for 15-17 and use the left over $$$ for some reliable engine work that you can trust. OTD will end up being less, if your not going to do much to it then grab a teryx for sure, in stock form they are way better, keep in mind i was 100% planning on not doing much to my rhino, now there is over 30k in it, you will get bit by the bug, trust me!!!

2009 Teryx. No doubt in my mind.

Now if you wanted to compare a 2008 Teryx to a 2009 Rhino, it woud be a toss up.

Do you say that because the '09 Teryx is that much better than the '08?

i just sold a long travel rhino and bought a 2008 teryx le for 9000 otd, and am very impressed with the teryx. i had it going 59 in a sand wash with just the cdi box. i now have a clutch kit, intake, xmf long travel, xmf cage, wheels and tires, seats and belts to install. good luck with your purchase. 25cheers.gif

I recently was faced with the same question. I went with the '08 Teryx. Added a cage, 4-points, rear seat, billet exhaust tip, HID's, lighted whip. All in all, I've spent about $11,400.00 including the purchase of the Teryx. So far I am very happy with the power, and I will finally get to try it out this weekend at Glamis.

How about this one
2007 Yamaha Rhino 660 4x4 with SoCal Fab(link to SoCal Fab) http://www.socalfab.com/socal_products.html

It has 39.9 hours and 440 miles $14900 858-688-2220
