Would it be best to take Evan Hewes Hwy to S-2 than the 78 or Forrester Rd to the 78?
Not towing anything.
Thanks.

but for general directions forrester is you best bet.

Actually going to be starting from the NAF El Centro. Riding Superstition one day then Ocotillo Wells the next. Sold the RV so we stay in the lodge on base.
Don't like to ruff camp anymore. ex.gif
Thanks.

i don't know exactly where that is but, i would still think it would be faster to drive on a mainly straight flat road than to go on the s-2 that will put you west of ocotillo then having to through the narrows. to me you'd be back-tracking.....where are you going to park at when you get to ocotillo? if it were me, i'd go down forrester that will put you into westmoreland so if you need gas or whatever you have those available then go on to ocotillo probably 1/2 hr 45 min. drive. just ride to ocotillo from there 70.gif

have a fun ride.

Think that is the way to go.
Thanks a lot.

What are you driving? There are some pretty decent roads that would take you across the desert. Something different.

How would you go across the desert? Follow the tracks to Split Mt.?

Well we finally had the chance to make the drive. Took about 50 min from the gate at NAF El Centro to the Blue Inn. Saw some cool birds, sheep getting hearded by the dogs and even the crop duster made some passes right along Forrester RD. Spent the day hauling butt all around Ocotillo Wells. O yea, the 2 strokes were tearing it up at Shell Reef!

Has anyone made this ride along the tracks and up the washes in a 4x4 or street vehicle? If so how long didi it take?
