2007 Warrior fs3000 intermittent brake failure lasting only several seconds. tried 3 different trucks same problem. warning display on ford factory brake control reads trailer wiring fault, brakes will not work for a second then will come on and work fine. it usually happens 2-4 times per trip. i've heard others have had same problem.
What is the fix?
Thanks

sounds like a grounding issue to me, IE when the wires more or sway it shorts or loses ground. When you are traveling to the brakes ever change in power level without a change on the gain?

Sucks that you can't take it back to Weekend Warrior for some warranty work...............
ANGELMONEY
my buddy just took his in for same problem. they grounded each backing plate and ran a new wire up and bypassed the box straight to the pig tail. problem solved.

I've had the same problem on my FB3000. I opened all of them up, made sure the wires were good, and packed the bearings while I was in there. That fixed it for about a year but half way through last season it started doing it again (a few times per trip).

Have you been underneath? Check to see if the wires havent been crushed between the axle and the frame. Common issue.
tim742000
If your wires run through the axles check it out. my dads had the same issue and were they ran on the inside of the axle it was grounding out
qmurder24
brought it in for repair, they replaced, re-routed, and ran wires on outside of axle. apparently it happens often? i will pick it up friday and see if that was the fix. Everything looked ok no pinched wires, the brakes didnt change in pressure they either worked or didnt. I assume they would have re done the ground as well? apparently they test and check out fine will see.
thanks for the help!

as for warrior..... this is our 3rd ww and have had great luck with all of them. i like ww trailers so much i cant see buying any other brand whether ww is around or not. at this point there isn't another trailer out there i would/could consider. warranty or not. as of now next trailer i buy will be a used ww 5er.

I never did understand why they ran the wires through the axle tubes. I'll be rerunning wires when I get back home, pain in the you but better than demolishing a stopped car in front of you.
tintman
mine does it to i got it to do it at the shop and the voltage spikes way high and trips the controller to say overload on the prodigy and you dont have brakes. im gonna see if they can do what angelmonkeys buddy had them due.
tintman
had them run new wires like qmurder did and havent had anymore issues thanks
NOR CAL 131
06 WW FS3000....Had the same problem.

Took it to the local shop and had them do the qmurder24 fix....now the brakes work perfect.

Dont know if this will help, but on my Carson it was a ground on the way to Idaho, and then on my new ford I have to use to hands to push it all the way in, Some time a 1/16 of a inch makes a difference with the conector it work then didnt work all on the same trip. And of my Weekend Warrior I had one of the connections were not crimped all the way, found it with the jack and had the brakes on full moved the wires around and seen sparking.

Good luck
