For all you zonies who drive on the 78 from Blythe to get to and from Glamis, you'll know what I mean. A few miles before the dunes is a huge mine complex.. Next to that where the highway gets narrow and lot of dips, was a fenced off section with barbed wired, that had signs saying something, like, "Sensitive Desert Tortise Habitat".

Now the mine has overtaken all of that. where are the turtles and why is it OK to take over their land and the enviro's want to take our little bit of useless sand dunes?

I thought that was odd too. Probably all about the money. Big mining company, big lawyers used to fighting for land, maybe we should hire them.....

We were wondering the same thing. Last year the tortoise signs came down and this year the mine is taking up a ton of what used to be supposed tortoise habitat. The bright side here is that the enviros can be beaten, the mines proved it.

Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Maybe a large dune saving org should hire their lawyers. Looks like they get shit done.
Shelvis
oh just wait for the dump to go in out there! Even more tortoise habitat will be gobbled up for that! It definately pays to have deep pockets when fighting the whacko enviro's!!!

We go by there a lot.
Heard they put the tortises to work diggin in the mines

Isn't that land being used for the LA Dump project..?

You know the one where they will be trucking thousands of tons of trash from LA to the dez every week.. The same one they have discussed building a new rail spur for..

What turtles....? We need a place to send our garbage...... effing hypocrites! yarder.gif
