I love this thread as well.

Here is something I did recently. Dutchmen must've forgot to backlight the control panel. Here is the before shot. They are very difficult to see especially at night

So I purchased a little strip of blue LED's and piggybacked off the Step switch. As you can see its not perfect. There is so many wires back there some of the labels are blocked.

I put one of the little 55w driving lights from Walmart under the trailer by my pooper drain, so I can make sure the hose is all the way on....icon_sad.gif.
I got a sealed push/pull switch for $11.00 and wired it to the batteries...now I can see everything...even helps when backing up at night and setting leveler wood.

This was done to my trailer when I got it buy the original owner. Air compressor plumed to three points down each side of the trailer and three in the cargo area. It comes in handy.

I always wanted a plug on the back side of my WW, I cut a hole next to the 110v wall socket inside and tied in the wiring.

Got'er done, Thanks. I have been wanting to do the same but afraid to start cutting! Was going to use exterior gang box under trailer but this is better.

This is getting Expensive but, Great thread by the way!

I removed my 3,000 watt inverter and installed a Xantrex Freedom 458 1,000 watt inverter/50 amp charger with built in transfer switch.

I then rewired my existing transfer switch to transfer between shore power and the onboard genny. So now my Weekend Warrior's electrical system is just like a moho setup. The inverter runs 24/7 to power 2 laptops, 2 TVs and 2 sat receivers. The solar panels charge the batteries all day. I turn on the Honda 3000 with the remote control for about an hr in the AM for the microwave/coffepot/toaster/blow dryer and the Xantrex power shares by cutting back on charging when big loads are being used.

In the evening, I run the Honda 3000 for about 4 hrs from 6 - 10pm to run all of the outside lights, lighted palm trees, microwave, etc and top off the batteries for the night. If we need to run 1 A/C, the Honda 3000 can handle it, if we need both A/Cs then we turn on the main genny. The transfer switches automatically switch between the inverter, the Honda, or the Onan 5500 as the power source without any cable swapping. All of this can be done with 1 remote control and the main genny switch. It's like having an electrical hookup in the dunes, especially for those 2 or 3 week trips!

does any one here have a propane gauge telling how much propane you have left in the tanks?

I love this thread. After seeing 80grit winch install on page 3 it gave me confidence to do my own install. Thanks and please keep the ideas coming.

Not really a mod but something i did today. The speaker grills seem to fade to a yellow color so i just pulled them off, cleaned them up then painted them with some Krylon Fusion paint. The paint is for plastics so I think it will work.

The paint looks good. I need to do that on the plastic around the window on my door!

Not exactly a trailer mod. but made life easy. I have a slide out and to load and unload you have to jack up the wheel, for the slide to go in and out. I made up a frame of
1 1/8" plywood, with the Teflon pads that you move furniture on, screwed to the bottom at one end. Tested it to see if it worked. Works great. I went and skinned it with 1/8"
Alum. D-plate, with a small ramp and spring loaded hinges, to hold the ramp up when the slide moves in and out. I have marks on the floor to set the ramp in the correct spot.

Very cool, I need to do something like that for the l/t teryx. I believe we have the same trailer, WW Cl.

Yes we have the same trailer, I can drive the car in with the front tire on or back it in with the paddle tire on the support.

I did that to all the yellow'd plastic on mine last season. Light buckets, door trims, speaker grills, vents. Looks so much better and its held up great.

Heres a thread I started on a mod I did to convert my front sleeper to an organized storage area in my 23 footer. Gave me about 40 sq. ft. of storage and all outta site outta mind when I close the curtain.

Did a couple of upgrades this off season.

Fuel Pump Station Upgrade

The fuel pump station on my weekend warrior was really slow so I took out the stock carter pump and dropped in a 250 gallon per hour Mallory pump. yay.gif I had to add a bypass inlet back into the fuel tank also.

Old carter on the right
New Mallory on the left

Installed. Will pump 4 gallons a minute

New Winch

Bought a 4000 Warn winch with wireless remote and put it in the first step leading up to the bedroom of a weekend warrior 5th wheel.

Added 2 X 8 on the backside of the step to add support
Has a manual switch on the left mounted in case the wireless remote fails.

Cut a hole out for the lead line to feed through and then cut the carpet for a flap. Installed velcro on it to hide it when not in use.

Just need to re install the carpet

Also added 2 toggle switchs. One to deactivate the winch when not in use and one to deactivate the co2 sensor. When the buggy is started in the trailer, it sets the sensor off. So I added the toggle switch to de activate it for pulling out of the trailer.

On the bottom side of the trailer I had to add some mounting strength. I used a 12 x 12 x 1/4" steel plate and 3/4 in plywood to straddle the cross beam. I had to drop the water tank to get to it. Then reinstalled the water tank.

The winch came with some short 6 gauge wire as it was made for a utv or quad. So I got some 4 gauge wire and ran it through under the sink and through the storage unit up to the front area where the batterys are. I enclosed the cable in track pvc to keep it out of the way and protected

Lastly I mounted the relay up by the batterys and hooked it up.

Added Side Marker lights

I found that the front and rear marker lights on a 41 foot warrior not to be adequate. Seemed pretty dark in the middle. Found this cool 18 wheeler accessory store and bought up a bunch of their chrome beveled LED's. Wired the sides (5 extra each side ) up with them and it is lit up now.

Also added a camera to the back of the 5vr so I can look at the hitch or switch to camera 2 for the back of the trailer.

Beautiful set up!
