Is there a way for users to block out a forum and deactivate the shout box? Guy has a 11yr old girl that wants to get on the board but certain areas are to be excluded?

This probably is a good idea, but how many under 11 year olds are actually on the board? Even if you were to exclude certain forums for a minor, there tends to be a lot of thread hijacking where things go south rather quickly. I don't think you could necessarily trust that everyone would keep it clean. You'd need a 24 hour a day moderator.
