Horsepower is Sandsmplrs wife - aka Jen.
As many of you saw, we had a HUGE group out at the flag pole yesterday.. There were probably 20+ riders in our group. After all was said and done we went out riding..
AWESOME RIDE also.. Usually big groups are slow - but we were picking it up a notch and getting some boogie time.

Im so proud of our group - an ice chest came off and it split the group right in half. Everyone did exactly right - looked back and there were riders at the top of each hill top - Nobody ever let the man in front fall back.. Eventually the stop caught up to the front riders and as we all started heading back picking up riders - Our own HORSEPOWER took a header in one of the breakchecks and fought her quad all the way down. Well, she sat up and felt/heard the crunch/grind and yes - it happened. She broke her collar bone.
THANK GOD we had a buggy with us. Sent out the speed demons JonJon and another 2 wheeler to get a razor and another rider back out to ride her quad back and sent her with the bulk of the group for a long bumpy ride back to camp in the buggy. Mind you, we as far out as you could be.. It was a long bumpy haul home.
Soon later JonJon came back with a razor and a rider and we got on our way.
Back to camp we all met. Everyone accounted for. The pros started the ice, some pain meds, and got her in a tight sling. When asked about heading to the hospital - "NO - its a waste of time. I have everything they would give me anyways". The ladies helped her get changed and cleaned up and the guys got her a super comfy chair and got her by the fire where she kicked it and hung out. This morning she is sore, in pain, etc but decided she wants to stay out another day.. WOW..

So a small healer prayer for a fast recovery would be nice.

On a side note - Any of you men out there break a damn bone and cry to go to brawley - remember - Jen stuck it out and said eff that..

Same thing happened to Marcella a few years ago...You guys are much nicer...I made Marcella dune it out from China wall to Wash 22 and then went and got the truck.

this might sound stupid but my uncle is a heart and lung surgeon and he cuts open the breast plate to access the organs...so he deals with broken bones alot.

he says that the positive patients heal faster than the grumpy complainers. so try to keep happy thoughts and dont let this get you down. way to be tough out there.

Best wishes and best of luck girl! Do you realize that you have a broken bone and you are so badass that your staying in glamis another day instead of going to the hospital? Do you also realize that peeps like me that would start crying and ask for a life flight helicoptor ride to brawley now have to man up and tough it out or risk being compared to you? (i did the same thing when i broke my foot after rolling the 70 at Robin and Ian's party last year. knew it was broken but why leave the party when you have EVERYTHING you need right there?)

Now that is one tough Woman! I am still healing from my Broken Collar Bone back in Feb. Make sure to get to the doc and have X-rays and an MRI. In a crash like that, the broken collar bone is prolly not the only damage done. My shoulder will never be the same. Get it checked out ASAP.
