Asking this for my brother. He just bought a used Dunntech with a northstar. First trip out last weekend and he said it would run fine at idle, but when he would put his foot into it at all it would start to sputter and pop real bad. said it had almost no power and could barely make it up olds in first gear. My dad has the identical car and his runs real well with the same exact set up. I know nothing about these motors and neither does my brother so I thought I would ask if anyone on here is a northstar tech or if someone can maybe recommend a good mechanic. He is probably going to take it back to Dunntech but I thought I would ask anyways. My only conclusion is that it is probably some electronic problem, maybe a bad sensor somewhere or something.

Sounds like its starving for fuel to me. Replaced the fuel filters? CHRF in Fallbrook are the absolute experts on Northstars. ask for Alan.
