From 12-14 I had a yz80 that my uncles tweaker ex stole. About 25 I got sick of drag racing, sold some parts, went and bought a yz450 on a whim. Got a trailer 2 years later and haven't looked back since. I'm 29 now.

Been riding street bikes since I was 19, until a high speed wreck after which my wife decided it was too dangerous. So in 2000 at the age of 30 I bought my first quad, a Honda 400ex, and I've been hooked ever since. A foot injury a couple years ago convinced me to get a buggy and sell my last quad a Yamaha YFZ450, but I'm getting the itch again and if the rail ever sells I'll be back on four wheels again. Probably going to get another Honda.

Started riding out at Gordons Well around age 3. Had a 70atc. Rode that for a couple of years then jumped on the 110atc. Then got a 185atc. Then a 250. Then my dad let my ride his brand new 86 250R atc. My Dad decided to get out of the desert scene when I was about 15. So 3 years later I bought myself a YZ250 and started going with friends. Rode that till last year when I bought myself a YFZ450. So I've been riding for about 24 years.

Started when I was 9. My dad HATED motorcycles and said if I saved my money,I coiuld buy one,but he'd have nothing to do with it. Saved $90.00 and bought a Rupp minibike. Rode that thing to death. That was 1969. I guess cause he hated them so much,I made motorcycles my business for 18 years. Still riding and will as long as I can. Use to go to Buttercup in the late 70's on dirtbikes. Now with age comes cage and quads and buggies with my family. I guess that makes it 39 years. I've never been without a motorycle in all that time.Don't laugh at the pictures, they are artifacts. Also can't post worth a shiat.

Did I mention most trips were at night after work. wow that 250R either had a bright light or I was young and didn't care.

1978 YZ80. The cool thing was some friends gave my parents all their son's riding gear- pants, jersey, shoulder pads (prerunner to chest protector),and matching Yamaha yellow helmet with scott goggles. My parents and I would not have been able to afford that stuff for a long time and it was so neat to have it all at the same time. I did have my own helmet but a Yamaha yellow one was way better.

I learned how to ride a PW50 before I knew how to ride a bicycle... dad bought it, no training wheels... slapped a helmet on my head and put me on it. I nailed the throttle and never let up... until that mailbox got in the way! I've been hooked ever since.

Started riding in 71-72. I think I was 7. First bike was an old briggs and stratton powered mini-bike with NO brakes. Flintstone-style. Then my dad got me a '73 yamaha mx80, silver with purple stripes. Sweet.. He rode a 72 TM250 suzuk, just like Roger D. Those were the days, used to ride south mountain EVERY day. I finally took over the TM250, when I was 12. "you can ride it when you can start it" That thing tossed me over the handle bars for a year before I weighed enough to start the friggin thing. Mostly stuck with 2 wheels until a few years ago when I discovered the dunes..... now its 4, and sometimes 2.

started in 3rd grade via a Honda Trail 70, moved up to a Honda 250XL in 1978 while on the farm in Montana. Then here in Phx started on Honda 3 wheelers 200x's. From there to the Honda 250r (best quad built via weight and power). Still riding today just that the toyz have changed depending on where or what the terrain presents.

I started riding at the age of 14 and it was on a 1974 Honda CL 125 S. It was not legal for me to drive it in the street. I remember my step dad saying if he caught me in the street we would have a big fire behind the garage. Trust me I did not want to see my motorcycle burned. So I put 2000 miles on that bike going up and down the driveway. That driveway was not very long! When I turned 18, I started working at McDonalds and then I bought a 1974 Honda CB750. Currently I have a 2002 Suzuki GSXR1000, this is my 10th bike, I ride it everyday to work, it almost has 50K miles on it.

I have had 3 bikes stolen!

I started riding in the late 70's. Cousin had bikes and would go out with them. I was suppose to get a Honda 80 for my 9th birthday. Parents got divorsed when I was 8, right before my birthday and mom's punishment to my dad was no bike. I rode with friends atc's over the years and got my blaster in '94. Rode that till '04 when I got my raptor. So of and on for about 30 years. Wow I'm getting old.

My dad was riding an Indian "Chief" back in '55 when I was a year old. My mom says my dad used to put me on the saddle in front of him and off we'd go.
I was riding my own bike on the back roads way before I was legal, and the old man approved.
She blames him for the "Bad Habit" I still have to this very day.

I first starting riding at 7 at Salton Sea/Glamis over Thanksgiving weekend on my cousins Yamaha 175 enduro. Then bought the Indian 70 in 1971 at the age of 8 or 9. That was just the start of more than a dozen cycles, atc's, jet ski's, two buggy's and many years of great fun...

Started riding at 8. 46 years ago. First bike was a honda 55, then kaw 120 roadrunner, kaw 175. Moved to Palm springs in 72. Got a tm 125 2 weeks before the Elsinore came out. That was fun..not. won two races and then started getting smoked. A year later we were all getting smoked by the Nogouchi YZ'sWorked at suzuki. Did I mention that I rode with Steve McQeen twice. He used to hang out at the shop. That man could ride! He used to hang until Ali came and got him. She was smoking to. But I digress. Moved back to Vista and the atc came out. Got a 90 and went to gordons every other week. That wasn't fast enough so I did the stroke it ,bandido frame thing. That wasn't fast enough so I put a dt 175 motor in it. You guessed it, about a month later the 250R came out. Got one and ran the crap out of it. Next an IT465. next 2 Banshees in a row. Finally got old enough that the bones were screaming, get a roll cage, so I built my own buggy. Sorry about the novel, but I have never reall put it down chronalogically.

I guess the desert has always been in my blood... some of my earliest memories are camping trips with my dad back in the late 60s. Ocotillo Wells mostly. No bikes or toys then, although he had friends who were into building buggies (he was a mechanic).
I first rode a three-wheeler in 1984, out at Superstition. My uncle's 200x... took me all of about fifteen minutes to loop it. Sorry Bob...

Life intervened shortly thereafter. College, marriage, divorce, unemployment... what a fun decade. In 1991 I bought my first 4x4, an '82 Toy Xtra-Cab that had seen much better days. 22R, stock gearing, three-inch lift and 31" A/Ts, I was unstoppable.

I wheeled that thing all over Borrego Valley, at least one trip every couple months when I lived in PB... every other weekend once I moved to Brawley in '93. The YJ came along in '95 with the move to Ventura County, then the Ram 1500 in '99, with the new wife, new house, and new daughter sprinkled in.
Fast-forward to winter 2002. I meet my friend Craig and his family out at Ocotillo Wells for a weekend of 'wheeling (me) and quadding (him). He puts me on his wife's '87 Warrior... I was hooked. We bought the Lakota two weeks later.

Three RVs, 7 quads, two buggies, and two tow rigs later... we structure our lives around desert season, and we couldn't be happier.

I bought a Honda 70 in 1969 and rode it till it died, then traded it to my little brother! First "real" db was a 1974 YZ250, raced D37 and SRA with that and then moved up to a Husky 250 in '78 (won my first race with it at the 4 aces race at Rand Mountain). Gave the bikes up when I got married in '81 and didn't ride again until about '85 when my step father let me ride his new Warrior on t-day. Bought a new Honda 250R quad 3 weeks later and went to Glamis the first time in Jan '86 and been hooked since. Had a 700R and now have a rail.
