I'm looking for two types of interior lighting for my rail.

1) A bright light that will help us find stuff, buckle up, etc. I like the Tatum billet LED light. Any other options?

2) Some cool pimp dimly lit lights that can be on all the time without impacting our vision while driving. Think of the LED lites in some new cars that just barely light up the interior. Or maybe some rope lights that make the interior look cool.

Any ideas?

My neighbor just did the rope light thing on the inside of the roof of his rhino. Looks cool at night when hanging out at the hill.

Ikea has these cool led lights in different colors or one in multiple colors & touch sensitive..
So you can turn them on or change the color by simply touching them!

A guy came into the Glamis Fab shop and this is what he does. I don't have the company name with me right now but I will get it and PM you the info, since he is not a sponsor here. He has an 8' led lighted whip that can take a 3x5' flag and not break. He bent it in half, takes a beefy mount but you get the mount with the whip. He also has some lighting under his old school rail.

I have the tatum dome light...looked cool on the shelf...but it not bright at all....very disapointing after spending $$$ and a few hours fishing and wiring it in angryfire.gif so unless they changed them..they are dim to say the least

I can't find any 12V lites that are touch sensitive. Can you post some links?

for the dim "always on" light you are talking about, you should consider a red light. Red lights dont affect the chemicals (I believe its called rhodopsin) that are produced in your eyes for the sensitive vision we have at night.

I can make you a smoking deal on 4 to 6 LED tubes in any color... sizes are 4" 6" 10" and 12" long

Looks like the tire is rubbing that mount!

Check out superbrightleds.com. They have all kinds of cool ones. I use one that 160 deg spread and lights up the whole inside in the front of my car. It was about $20.

I really like this idea... nothing like a little engineering and fabrication when products don't meet your needs. 25cheers.gif

I'm not finding any 160 degree lites on their site... or anything that bright. Which one did you use? How did you mount it?

For the soft interior lights while driving, check out the single led lights here. I put four in the console, one for each seat, and 2 in the dash pointing down. They give a soft glow and don't affect your night vision. For the dome light, I ended up using 2 of the tatum lights.

If it's not the right link, goto the shite, clikc the accent lighting and it's the first one at the top. They are really bright. I mounted it on the underside of my dash pointing down. Just one lites up the floor really well. I still added some domes too, but that one light is probably suffiecient.

I have two of these lights in my car and they work really good for me. One over the drive and passenger sides.. I also bought some blue 4" led lights from Wheelie Bar and put two of them under my dash, and two under the rear seat. It lights it up inside pretty good and looks cool at night!
