I am having a 4 seat truck built. My hope was to build something I could use in the sand as well as hard pack if I wanted to. Truck is a 4 seater built "Shaq Attach size" for me ( I am 6'7" ) so I wanted it to be comfortable for the front and rear passengers. I am straight legged in the front and the passengers seats in the back can accommodate a 6' 5" person comfortably.

Body looks like this!

Here are a few build details.

4 x Sparco extra wide seats, Seats are on sliders. Momo belts and steering wheel.

Race pack dash

GPS with rear view cam.

Walker Evans Wheels with 35" tires

King Shocks and Bypasses all 4 corners. With King bump stops.

8 x Fuego HID's on lightbar.

50 different Chromo gussets all over the car.

Were rebuilding the front upper A arms in Chromo and rebuilding the front spindles with ProAm bolt on snots and everything double shear for strength.

Engine is a Nelson Racing 427 twin turbo. I plan to run it at 6 to 22 pounds of boost on 110 gas. (hp is a secret so watch the video)

Here is a video of the motor.

Here is a little more about the motor.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU1dPeQUGXk...feature=related

Rear Torsion bar. Double shear!

Tranny is a Fortin Racing 5 speed sequential with Torque converter.

Lots of aluminum work with dash and center console, firewall with mesh. Closed off engine area, Thinking of closing off the front wheels wells, Rear deck lid will be on actuators and with some scoops.

Oh poop handles for everyone!

Fiberglass body with windshield, custom paint probably in the off season.

Lots of fun little Details!!! Steps, Overhead console, door panels, etc...

More to come!!!! yay.gif

I am having a 4 seat truck built down at my buddy's Dana and Gab's shop ( ASC ) in Santee. My hope was to build something I could use in the sand as well as hard pack if I wanted to. Is this a new build, or is this a Revenge/Dunebuggy.com Sidewinder chassis, hard to tell in the pics without a full side view, the pic from the drags is Revenge/Dunebuggy.com. What does the body weigh?
Booshy
Aluminum rear firewall.

Some of the cool little details Dana at ASC is doing.. Custom Rear torsion arm.

Some of the front gussets holding the front Bump Stops..

done-it-again
Looking good. That's going to be one hell of a machine.
Fireman
That thing is sick!!!
Racer Tim
If your adding gussets you should do some to the front bulk head and the rear shock mounts i had some wierd stuff happen with mine so we over laid them with 1/8" 4130 and havent had a problem since, other than that that thing looks sick!!!
dbart
Motor #3...1200+ HP on pump gas out of a small block. SICK!
I hope you and all your passengers wear neck braces.

Awesome build. Keep the pics coming. I need more drool on my desk.

JohnnyAirtime

Not only did you not come out for New Years to the Dez (all talk)... but, you are soon to owe me dinner for this build not being done in 3 months.

... from the Rhino, to this... and I've only seen you ONCE in the dez with us.

Some friend.

I know, I'm just butt hurt... and now jealous! Hahaha

I would guess with all the added supports the car will be at 4,200lb dry, 4800 to 5500 loaded, and runnin 1200hp , it will be like a vw car witha 2180, bra I suggest you bump up the hp while you can why go with a mere 1200hp, when you can have 2400hp, boost baby boost, , very nice one badgluteous maximus ride, also those lower front arms are hollow with minor supports a few big air jumps and your gonna bend them, have gabe fix them now or have them redesigned, do not get the ones from db.com the are also hollow and will also bend they lack inner core support. congrats its gonna be sweet. cnt wait to see er run.

why go with a mere 1200hp, when you can have 650hp,

coocoo.gif
Booshy
Not even close!!! We are thinking 3500lb loaded. Car is VERY lite. We could not belive how lite it was. We looked at the lower ams and they look ok and actaully pretty beefy. We just rebuilt the upper arms as they were mild steel. I will post pictures. I talked to Nelson Racing today and the motor is in final assembely and should be on the dyno next week. Looks like were ahead of schdule. This is a 1700hp motor I am running on the conservative side. So 110 gas and 22lbs should get me 1200 to 1300 hp and if I get spanked I will just turn it up... The key is tourqe and this motor makes 1300 ft lbs at 3500 rpm..

You should open the front as much as you can. my car was fast before the body was on, after I put the body I lost 25 mph and it would not jump, the air got under it....call Jimmy Weitzel he will tell you all about it

NICE truck by the way. If you ever need a test driver or someone to ride shotgun, I'm available.

This will be the fastest car in Glamis...for now smile.gif
I like the way you roll Bill, do forget to add brackets for the parachute before it goes to powder.

Thanks Bill, I appreciate that.... All you need now is the DCB approved 12V socket.

Dirtracer
i 2nd the truck body, thats going to be the #1 thing slowing you down....and you wont be able to jump unless you like landing on your rear cage!....i would take it to a fiberglass guy and have him "vent" the S*** out of it!
Booshy
Seems to work for him.

We are closing off the whole bottom with alum and also the wheel wells...

A few more pictures of the build...

Front bumps..

New Front Arms

New front spindles with bolt on snouts

New side steps

Rear arms are all supported for rear bump stops

My Nelson Motor getting all assembled

Its coming along slowly. Most of the Alum is done on the car except the rear hatch. We will be designing this in Solidworks
and should be a key part of the truck.. Nelson has some trick billit collectors we will have to wait on. But the trick stuff is
worthe the wait!!!

yah, thats a mid engine trophy truck that weighs about 6k pounds and has about 7-800hp...I know some of the porter trucks that are mid engine even had huge venting behind the front wheel wells.
Booshy
DR point taken. I really want this to be a great play truck not only at the drags but for jumping so I will talk to the guy building it and maybe do some mesh venting in the front. But I have closed up all the pockets on the original design for just this reason!!!! I don't want it to be a kite!!!
