Nice work John
buckwild
If you do the math Outfront got Booshy running working car you all seen the videos of it 54 days ago. Not working Saturdays or Sundays thats 44 working days at 8 hr thats 352 hr . So tear down and the changes to the car even if they are big ones took 352hr WOW. Even a monday morning quarterback can do that math.Thanksgiving is about 23 working days or 184hr away. So Outfront cheerleaders do you see this happening not by my math

Outfront/John doesn't need defending and you are obviously a TROLL. Go away. Johns reputation precedes him and now so does yours.

Look, I found a picture of Buckwild.

Now I understand, looks like he might be compensating for something his picture (and his posts) reveal that he is missing.

Wow. You truly are an idiot. You obviously don't know anything about John. What a shame.

Great work John.

Some people just don't get the amount of work it takes with this caliber of vehicle.
John@Outfront Mtrsprts
The frame is gone to powder, it should be back early next week, front and rear arms are getting a textured black, frame is gloss black, panels are going to be satin black, about 130 pieces and should be back late next week

Wow, you got your work cut out for ya once it's back!

How long (approx) do you think assembly will take?

There are too many different things going on to guess, we have a lot of extra things to do that were not part of the first build, these items i'm working on will make future repairs easier. we are changing a handful of electrical issue to make the car more user friendly, we are setting up sight tubes for the drysump tanks (there was previously no way to add or see the fluid level before in these tanks), fire suppression system, power brakes, finish hard lines, reroute some drysump vent lines that didn't work. removable floor (for example this floor appeared to be the first item to be installed, and the car was built around it, there are four sub floors that were bolted on top of this. these floors would take about 3 hours to remove after the seats were out, Bill told me one seat took about 1.5 hours to remove). So if you wanted to remove the floor before it would have taken at least 10 hours--now, less than an hour. because there are so many things going on. it has taken some time to decide how to attack the issue. It's like playing Chess.....but a three dimensional version icon_cool.gif

Uhmm, John. I'm kinda disappointed. With all the fuss you make over Outfront Green. We should be looking at a green trailer.

Nice work by the way. Improvements that improve access or shorten maintenance will only save time, money, and frustration down the road.

And your spelling "specks" for itself as well. Talk about an obvious axe to grind with John.

Tell you what, post up pictures of your successfully run business, willingly share your knowledge of cars, engines, off road vehicles, etc. Show us what you build, repair, install, retrofit, and re-engineer & let us all see your credibility. That way we can see where you are coming from, and why what John is doing is wrong. Obviously in your eyes, he is not doing anything correctly, and you have the answers. Otherwise, go piss in another thread. There are a lot of people reading this thread that are genuinely interested in the truck, John's work, and what he has to offer us a business owner, a person, and a duner.

As of right now, you bring nothing positive to this thread.
WRTundra
I was trying to explain this truck to someone today and I made the mistake of saying it had an avalanche body cause they were like "oh, i've seen that" and then I had to say well its like that except its crazy and intense and looks like it ways 3 tons and has a million horse power and lots of tubes and everything is hard to take apart and its just nerdy and neat and is safe looking.
D-MAXimus
Any pics fo the coating yet?? KILLER build Great job OutFront! I for one would not know where to start on that beast!!
Booshy
Talk to Endless yesterday. John has the truck back and I hope is full steam ahead!!!!

Fiberglass is up at Trailer products getting some work done. Vents in the hood and repairs.

Shocks are being rebuilt now all black and I will drop them to John next week.

Dash and center console holes have been filled as were relocating everything to the center of the dash. Dash and center console will then be rapped in black leather and baseball stitch.

Endless said he has never seen a car with so many panels and will have to wrap each panel to keep from scratching them..

I hope it goes together quick... smile.gif
nosocks
I'll be driving down the road later this week or next if john doesn't mind.

I gotta see this smile.gif
D-MAXimus
I really can't wait to see this thing either, will there be Horsepower wars 2.0?? If so, be sure to let us know where this time before we all leave for the dunes! I came out for the day just for that and missed it!!
John@Outfront Mtrsprts
The build begins, Pictures every day,

frame is back, the gloss black looks like it's dripping wet! arms are textured black. panels are still being worked on.

We are prepping the frame, cleaning out holes and tapping some. agenda today:light bar, sway bar, fuel pumps, steering rack and servo, prepping for the trans install

Very nice job. Looks great!

Here is an interesting find, the front spindle bolts are three different sizes, ther only needs to be 2 sizes, but the interesting part is that the short ones bottom out in the hub assy before the head gets tight on the spindle. that means that there have only been 4 of the eight bolts holding the spindle on wife.gif The bolt bottomed out has .312" of clearance, the spindle hub is .265 thick. that means the bolts bottomed out and had .047" left to go.

Here you can see that 4 of the eight bolts need to be short and would bottom out on the plate

here are the three different length bolts, the shorter ons should have been another .070 shorter

Here you can see the front side of the spindle, the short bolt is installed and bottomed out in this pic

I was wondering if Buckwild could please post your opinion here ( ) beer.gif or should i just "slap" this thing together??? wife.gif

Just stack a bunch of washers on those bolts and "slap" it together. Looks like that's what they did!
