My bolts are at least 3 years old and I had an unfortunate breakdown. The bolt didn't break, the tab on the frame did.
Do our bolts really get soooo fatigued that we need to spend 3-500 every year to replace heims and bolts?
I see cranes, excavators, big rigs, etcc... that all still have original bolts.

I had a very large grade 8 bolt snap on my front spindle, fortunately we weren't going fast at the time. All of the bolts on my front suspension are at least 5 yrs old, possibly 6 yrs old.
I think it's high time to replace them all, and will be replacing them every 3 yrs from now on. Even if it costs me $250 to replace them all, it's better than rebuilding the front end after a bolt failure.

...or spending time in the dunes broke down and trying to figure out how to get a car with a broken front end out of the middle of BFE.
It all comes down to...whats your time worth to you?

I just replaced the heims on Amy's car last month after 7 seasons. They seemed ok on the car but were worn really bad once I had them off. I WON'T be waiting 7 seasons to replace them again.

I changed all of my trailing arm bolts and shock/bypass bolts when I had my Fortin put in 1.5 season ago.
I had all of the front end bolts replaced last season when I bent an arm. I figured since they had the front end apart, just put new bolts in.

I changed all the bolts and heims on my shocks, a-arms and trailing arms before this season. It was three full seasons. They seemed to be in pretty good shape. Put them in a zip lock and tossed in my plastic container I keep with everything else. Better safe than sorry. Got spare parts If I or somebody else needs them.
