Just picked up a 09 450r and wanted to know if anyone has seen or heard of a slip on or full exhaust yet? Programer? I have looked but have not seen anything. The bike is sick but sounds weak

Dr.D has been working with yamaha on this. they have what you need/want/desire. its only money. did you even look at the GYTR catalog?

Call up fuel customs. They got like 46hp with just a intake and no tuning yet. The motor is a monster on the yfzr. I would wait until the FCi is released and wait until JSR/ ESR/ Etc releases their pipes. It will be worth the wait. Suspposedly you can use a 18.5" LT shock to replace the stock front shocks If you already have Long Travel on a previous YFZ.
Point is, Call Garret at Fuel Customs. They are working on their intake for the R right now.

Did you try GYTR? In their catalog they have a lot of aftermarket hop-up parts, including pipe, filter kits, controllers, cams/head, etc.....
I'm going to get the full GYTR system when I get mine in January......

Wait 2 months, you'll have a lot more options.
Call Alba Action. Their systems are generally pretty damn potent (loud as eff too) and their most likely gonna get to work and quick.

Geoff Mummert (MMAD) in San Diego is ready now if you do not want to wait. He's probably one of the top 3 YFZ builders in the country..

GWTT - I plan on being at Round 1 of the WORCS race....giving my YFZR it's first run, hopefully! I don't have it yet, but should by then....
While the aftermarket goodies are limited for the YFZR right now, I think in the next few weeks we will see some new pipes out and then in the next month or so, a lot of companies will be coming out with their stuff. It was the same when I bought my YFZ in 2003 - no one had anything for it for a little while.......

Well just got back from GD for our New Years trip....man that 450r was killer !!! Loved it. I did the ride from Gecko to Duner's Dinner and had a blast with it pinned. The bike handles great for out of the box and even had enough power to keep me happy for the weekend. Here is a pick of my wife getting ready to ride it and me filling up my daughters quad. My wife stuck my on the Raptor for this ride

Thanks... Yea it's a really nice bike. Trust me I have been a Honda "R" man for what I thought was life but things changed to 4 strokers and really I have not felt any worm fuzzy's till this bike. Yea the Raptor was cool but I really feel at home on that Yfz450r.
Here is something that was cool, the new seat and thinner tank section is great. It makes it easy to move your body position around and still feel good. Also when the bike daces around under you it doesn't feel like you have a "Tank" under you. Kinda feels like when I have my crf450 dancing around under me on a trail. BUT,,,I will say Yamaha sucks balls for installing a "True RED" seat on candy red frame combo. It really looks out of place. I think we are going to get the seat redone in some after market cover set up.
Also all I did to the bike was pull the exhaust core out for the weekend just so it sounded alittle better

so you won a race.

but ALBA's stuff you were given literally. just cause you got friends places doesnt mean there stuff it great. they have little packing in their pipes, are loud and brittle. yours may be holding up quite well for sitting for a whole season but poor quality imo.

Been getting plenty use. Parts have held up great. I don't need a master welder for an exhaust pipe, frame maybe but an exhaust that's greatest battle is vibration, no.

Loud is an understatement though.
And don't knock free, free is great price. I had to haul the damn thing cory, that's a lot of gas money

Alba - Lower/Middle of the line parts made by some other Mfg.....they just put their label on it.
For a 450R....Id be looking to the Performance Shops who actually make and test their own items.
Alba stuff is good for the average joe to put some stuff on their Quad. Not Race level.
