22-57-60-10-86-78

22-57-91-15-10-86-78

depends on when you are going the 10 thru Redlands sucks on holidays...but so does the 60 thru the badlands.

Easiest route is probably the 57-60-15-10-86-78

If you have never been out thru Temecula(79/San Felipe/78) it can be very intimidating with all the curves and hills. If you want to try that route then I would suggest you do it in the daytime. It is a beautiful drive but not for the faint of heart. Or those that get car sick. I took a neighbors daugther with us to Ocotillo and they failed to tell me she gets car sick. We had to pull over 3 times. I was not happy. 25bangin.gif

wow, you OC guys got some goofy routes....
badlands-you mean moreno valley?
when i lived in south oc we took 5-55-91-60/turns into 10-86s-78w

or
15s-79s-S2-78 east....

not sure why you would want to take 60 then 15 to 10????

not sure what temecula parkway is either....
Ocotillo Boy
Whatcha gonna be driving?!?!

If it's a big diesel pusher with a stacker trailer I would go with option #1

If it's a LIL smaller I would go with option #1

If it's a small pickup with a small something behind it option #2 sure is a pretty drive

If you are on a bike stay away from option #1 and take option #2 mick.gif

From Anaheim Hills
91 to the 10 to 86s to 78
I go this way because I don't like driving the 60 with our fifth wheel.

Temecula Parkway is what Temecula renamed the section of 79 south that goes thru town.

I think it also depends upon where you are going to camp in Ocotillo Wells. We personally go through Temecula with a small toyhauler, but we also camp off of the 78 by County Line Road.

Also from the 79 make sure to cut across the S2 to the 78. You do not want to go through Julian.

Cause the 91 from the 15 to the 215 SUCKS... and so does the eastbound 60 @ the 91/215....15 north to the 10 east is usually easier on my trans(less stop and go). Again it all depends on what time you leave..

deff. option #1, goin through temecula way sux. I'd go 22 to the 57, merge onto the 60 all the way down till it hits the 10, then take the 86s (Brawley expressway) all the way down till you see the border checkpoint, then make a right on the 78 then head down to ocotillo. Plus this way you can stop at the 76 unocal station on the 86s and fill up (they also have VP @ the pump!) also a rv dump station there.

with my old trailer, narrow and lighter, i went 91e, 15s, 79s, s2, 78e.

new and current trailer, wide and heavy, i go 91e, 10e, 86s, 78w.

Orange County is a pretty big place buddy. We could help you out if you gave us the city you coming from.
