Lets see those hustlers and a proper sand car, not a mini-van
Out of curiosity, has anyone ever tossed on some 37s or bigger on a hustler? I know it's against the George family rules to jack up the car but i think those things would look mean
This is my favorite so far, but I still say some bigger tires are in order!

These cars are not so much about looking great as they are about going sideways. Get enough seat in one, and you'll understand.

After riding in the Yellow one Grants brother drove, Id stick with what works.. Aint saying bigger tires are better or worse, but theres a reason they stick with the size tires they put on them at all costs (people spending tons of $$). Often times what might look cool, just might lead you to the wrong end of a tow strap or in a bad situation.

That was my car originally. Had to sell it before I really got to use it. The family that bought it live in Colorado. There are some great videos of it on youtube!!

Sliding sideways IS cool., but, doing barrell rolls thanks to an excessively high c/g can also be cool due to the be entertainment factor for some (
usually not the driver). It really just gets down to what looks baddest, or dunes baddest, and can do what
you want it to do. Different stokes for....................
All I know is, the day I see 45 inch tires on Grants car. I'm buyin some!

You can't argue with what works unless you only care about appearances.

I agree! Sand buggin is more like drifting than drag racing in my opinion. I probably used my turning brakes more than the steering wheel!!

I love this car too. The tires on the rear are on 17" rims, but still Dune Sports, 35" if I don't stand corrected. Faster Daddy would know if he was the original owner. I have emailed the new owner. He owns it with another family and seems to be a real nice guy. Trying to get him to come to Glamis, But too far he says.
Im not sure what tires are on that car now. I sold it with 16.50 implements on Douglas rims, not whats on the car now. Ive emailed back and forth with the new owner several times. They seem to be loving that car.

2nd owner. I had the 15's w/razors up front and the car would jerk around and try to follow every other track out there. The only time I don't like the fronts is when the sand is wet. Otherwise 17"'s are sweet. TNT, you bought my buddies( the original owner) old/new car, whadda ya think?

Ok, Heres an oldy but a goody!
This is a 2000 Hustler II (Gen 3 - no by-pass). It was my wifes for 6 seasons she said she would never sell it!!!! Until she rode with me in my Big 5 Gen 4!! That car is on its third owner (TNT had it for a short while). It started out with a 2275 Carcraft turbo and it was a blast to drive. I have seen it for sale with a Honda power plant now. And yes that is and Alien in the passenger seat (she doesnt care much for passengers)!
The second car shown is her next car that they have technically named the EVO. Gil George said he would never build one of those swoopy ones again, my wife convinced him to build her a Huslter II style with the Gen 4 suspension. I really think it was Gils and Gregs best work!!!!Only problem now is
I WANT ONE!!!!!

I think this is my favorite Funco. I remember this one well at the show.
Gil George was kind enough to talk to me about this car for about 20 min. Told me how he personally hand bent the large swoops.
Explained why they do rear engine instead of mid-engine setup, suspension...eveything. Very cool guy and I wasn't even there to buy a car...just complimented him on it.
Too bad they won't contiunue to make this model.
Beautiful.
