POULE43
A HUGE THANKS...(I MEAN HUGE) to Joel and Amy for getting my family out of a tough situation this last week. We were 65 miles outside of Glamis on the way out towing our 3/4 ton Suburban towing Mad Cows dump trailer with firewood and my sons quad when this happened

POULE43: Hunny, you smell somthing burning??????

Mamma Mia: Yeah.......OOOOOHHHH C H I T......(looking in side view mirror) sees the entire rear axel of the Suburban scared.gif 3 feet outside the wheel well at 60MPH!!!! scared.gif

Poule43: AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH / grind...thump....grind....thump thump!!!!!!!!

Made it over to the side of the road / got the family out and down the embankment to safety and started the phone calls!!!!!!!!! Called Mad Cow...he was a few hours away and said he would be right there.....Called Tres....he said the exact same thing........(BEST FRIENDS EVER!!!!!)

Called Wash 11 and he was JUST pulling thru the gate at the pound....told him what happened and he said I will unload the pickup bed and be there asap!!!! Well,....let me tell you.....he was there in 45 minutes.....That boy flat out hauled the mail to save our asses....

We put the truck in 4X4 and went 1/2 a MPH forward and was able to hook up the trailer / install the kidlet car seats.......and wait for AAA to arrive.

Wash said there were 4 other people at the pound that were going to come out to help us!!!! GREAT FRIENDS FOR SURE!!!!!!

Mad Cow calls me back and says, DO NOT GO RENT A CAR!!!!that he told Jeff (RHINO MAFIA / Sinister Sandcars) what happened and that he would be out by Wednesday night and a Chevy duramax would be there for us to drive the family home!!!! Man o man....what more could you possibly ask for!!!!!!

THEN:

We get back to Camp....Osoto grabs his truck / Wash and I drop the firewood.....Amy (Wash Wife) cooks my wife and 3 kids dinner while Osoto / Wash and I pick up my trailers from storage....set up camp!!!!! UNBELIVEABLE!!!!!! Not a beat missed. AMY whipping up dinner and occupying the kids and having a 25cheers.gif with my wife made it soooo easy to get camp set up and put us right back on schedule for an INCREDIBLE WEEK!!!!!

YOU GUYS ROCK !!! My family are so thankful for what you guys did for us!!!!!!

I am speechless and and so thankful for such GREAT FRIENDS!!!!!!!!! OH....then Tres pulls into camp and points to my atc 70 (purple Kiss bike) with it looking like new !!! 70.gif It was all messed up and Robert was CRAZY BUSY with his job.....ends up staying up till like 3am just to get it done for me so we could cruise around!!!!! GGEEEEZZZZZZ!!!!

The entire incident set us back MAYBE a total of 1.5 hours !!! Thats it!!!!

I am so thankful for such great friends. THANK YOU FROM THE Kiss Army family!!! pineapple.gif clap.gif

C-clip. Not one of GM's best ideas.

Thanks for the props Andy but it really was our pleasure to help a little when we could.

That's what I dig about Andy, cool about the whole thing. We all know guys that would completely go off the deep end in situations half as bad as this. It was just all part of the adventure we know as POULE43's life. BTW, getting to spend a couple hours with Andy and his family in the truck was a treat- Mama Mia is an absolute doll and his kids are the BEST!!!

That truly is a family full of smiles and we are lucky to have them as Pound neighbors.

DAWYUM!! this board has the best peeps in the ENTIRE world!!!! mad props to you all

isnt that rear end a full floater? no c-clip in that beast, looks like the nut that holds the hub on decided to come loose....OOPS!

always feared that would happend at the dragstrip. disc brakes keep the axle in.. that had drums. very scary! glad everything turned out ok.

"Semi" full floater. You're right, had it been a full floater- this can't happen. I pulled the axle out enough to see where the c-clip used to live as I was convincing the axle to go back in far enough for a ride on the flatbed.

BTW:

THANKS TO MXD (Carlos) !!!! When he found out that we were going to stop in Brawley for our Christmas gift and got sidetracked with all the wheels comming off the car,....he hands me a WRAPPED PRESENT so my family could participate in the gift exchange. THEN,...stops by camp, and asks if we needed anything in town since we didn't have a car!....I gave him a few bucks for some milk and beer.....when I got back from a rail ride with Tres, I look in the cooler for a beer.gif and BAAAAM....a 30 pack of Coors light PACKED ON ICE layer by Layer and a gallon of milk for the kids (well mine too) Captain Crunch cereal!!!!!

Gotta say, I really enjoy the friends I've met from the board, but this week took the cake!!!!!

THANKS MXD!!!!!

Good job Wash11 and crew.

But one has to wonder that maybe Poule43 was trying to
get rid of that axle and show off his 3 wheeler skills.

Pretty awesome. Good bunch of peeps out there and I'm glad everyone was safe and sound.

Its things like this that make me proud to call Wash and is amazing wife, friends.

I know he would do this for me, my family and, the reality is, he would not hesitate to do the same thing for a complete stranger.

I only hope to keep them as friends for a long time to come...and I hope we don't loose them permanently to the pound..we love him in wash 11.

Great story and a bunch off great people!

Great group of peeps! Little late but not forgotten how a few weeks ago Pajama Guy came to MWBbanshee's rescue and towed our Toyhauler home after the tranny went on the Dodge. AAA finally came to tow the truck but not until I drove up with my broken arm with the card. All is well now, Thanks to fellow GD.comers! wub.gif
