Ok awhile back I posted about out 120V service cutting out while running the generator, the generator runs fine but all 120 power goes out. You guys told me to check for loose ground wire somewhere. Well over New Years I had a chance to play with the ATS to try to figutr out what is wrong. First I looked for any loose wiring, between the Gen and ATS, the ATS and shore power plug, etc.....I wiggled every wire I could get my hands on and nothing was loose...I even tightened every lug with a wire in it. Still the problem was there......the ATS switches off or Opens after some random amount of time....I left the cover off to see if it was a heat issue but that didn't seam to make a difference and I stuck my face down next to it after it switched off and couldn't feel any heat or smell anything hot. I also checked power in and out with my multimeter.....everything looked fine 120V in on both legs of the gen power in....and 120V on power going out when the switch worked.....then for whatever reason it would just switch off........then switch back on after 15 min or so....didn't matter if we left the Gen running or not. The Green LED in the ATS was on showing "Proper Operaton" according to the info on the back of the cover.

Any idea's? Is the control board in the ATS bad and needs replaced or is the whole ATS toast? Funny thing is that there was no pattern at all to when it would shut off.....sometimes we'd get 15min of gen time and other times two hours.???? I'm stumped

Good news called the manufacturer in AZ, Iota Power systems and they sent me out a new control board for the switch. They said if that doesn't work they will send me a whole new switch. It's very refreshing to actually talk to a company that really cares about making it's costmers happy. The service tech I talked to spent a long time talking with me really trying to figure out what was wrong, walked me through some quick tests to perform, all around I felt very good about their effort. Part should be in today....I'll through it in this weekend and hopefully it will be fixed.
