The second good thing the County of Imperial has done for the duning community and other motorized recreation in the past week is contained in the attached document.
Back in May of 2008, the Center for Biological Diversity ("CBD") issued a "report" on motorized recreation entitled "Fuel to Burn". It was a awful piece of garbage intended to further close us from public lands.
Just last week, the County of Imperial shot back on this document.
Good job County of Imperial.

Great response. Now we need to use this to point out the CBD's tendency to under count and use of junk science in the rest of their stupid petitions. EFFERS

I would just love to see a judge look at one of these petitions armed with an estimate for what it would cost the taxpayers to fund, maintain and enforce their proposal along with a value of lost land use and revenue and ask them how they would be paying for it. When the lawyers start stammering ask them "what you dont think you can take this land for your purpose and not pay for it do you?"
They would have to put alot more thought into what really needed to be protected. As their money starts running out more areas would get opened and they would be forced to decide.

It's nice to see a responce letter like that going to the overzealous environmentels that think by closing down the dunes they will change the color of the sky. If anything they need to write a letter about that over populated dairy farm a few miles down 78... that place is always nasty and over ripe

Not to mention the economic impact it wold have in the surrounding aeras in closing the dunes. I wounder if anyone has done a study on how much cash flow actually happens on just one bussy weekend for Brawley, Westmorland, Elcentro?

DOTM nomination?
That would be a wonderful idea. How do we nominate him?
Can you imagine if this person was voted DOTM and and he had that honor on his desk for all the government types to see?
I like it!
