My raptor took a dump on me this weekend. pulled the spakrplug to do a spark test and low and behold...nothing except for when you release the start button it'll spark one time. So while holding the starter button there is no spark, but as soon as you release the starter button it'll spark one time.
Anybody have any ideas on what might be going on.

Man, I hate electrical problems. I am a Raptor Guy.
I would start with the simple things first: new plug, check ground wire, check all wires condition, check switch (especially if it's been dumped lately).
After that I would start changing parts with a working quad; CDI, plug regulator/wire, etc.
That's pretty much what I would do. Hope that helps.

happened to me once...but no spark at all!
turns out the wires in the battery box that connect to the ecu were rubbing the plastic and it severed the wires causing me to lose spark. so had to run to yuma cuz it was the first day of our trip
i guess its a common issue if youhave aftermarket plastics

Disconect the rectifier. Then start. If it does start like that its your stator.
