I got to check out the TRX450R today and talk with some people about it that have ridden it as well as the YZF450 and they said it's about the same. One thing I did notice is that the new Honda has a elec. fan but no battery to keep it going when the bike is not running. The shocks are ok but they don't have a lot of adjustment to them. One of the complaints I have when I was sitting on it is that you sit right over the rear tires an a little high like the Raptores, which to me feel top heavy. A good point for you guys that like the racing look of no front fenders is that on the Honda they are easily removable. The toll kit in now located under the seat instead of the round box under the rear fender. They also likened the kick start to a 350X so be prepared to give it a little muff to start it.
These are just my views on the FOURTRX450R

I've heard from several people that the shocks on the R are the most adjustable of any stock shock to date. Also that it is the easiest 4 stroke to kick over.
It's always good to get other opinions. I'm waiting to give one a whirl in the sand in OK next month. Can't wait so I can judge for myself.
it turns over easy, but it takes some extra umph to do it. im just too used to my R's kicking than these high compression 4 strokes.

Don't ever judge a book by it's cover. You can't tell what a bike will do just by looking at it.
By the way Tom, did you have them strap it to a trailer so you can test ride it?

If you put any stock into magazine shootouts the YFZ has won four out of four magazines so far and was named ATV of the year by two others.
I am not aware of the Honda winning any. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, for what it's worth. Here is a dyno run using the same dyno, with the same operator, on the same day, with the same dyno slicks. Both machines were out- of-the-box stock. You can't get more of an apples to apples comparison than this.
According to the operator, the TRX stopped registering on the graph at 8400 rpm due to it going into a double spark condition.
Red = TRX450R Blue = YFZ450
