A few of you have asked me to post a picture of my pride and joy, running or not... so here it is... icon_biggrin.gif

1983 70... Blue

user posted image

My dad came home one day and rolled this and the '79 110 out of the van. I was 4, my brother was 8 but somehow we didn't destroy it soon after. We probably checked the oil maybe 2 or 3 times in the 18 years it ran, never changed it (we were kids with no tools... gas was cheap though). EVERYTHING on the bike is original... it's just missing a few stickers... even the tires are original. Plastics aren't even cracked. The seat is a bit worn though...from being outside.

I need to rebuild or buy a new pull starter, rebuild the motor, buy a new kill switch, new tires, TRY to find a seat that is OEM Honda and get either a stock exhaust or a Cobra pipe just for the hell of it.

Oh yeah... before I forget... I will NEVER sell it. icon_biggrin.gif

What year is it? And do you have a better picture of the front fender? And did your dad buy it brand new from the dealer?
stonehenge
And does it have a factory parking brake? oh, and how many gears and what way do you shift? And last question, does it have a black plastic number plate on the front that say honda?
stonehenge
Dang just noticed its an 83' can you post better pictures of the front fender?

Stonehenge:

My dad bought it brand new icon_biggrin.gif rollsmile.gif in early '83. I don't think it has the factory parking brake (I'll have to check... I know the 110 does... not sure if both do.) I believe it's a 4 speed tranny and I think you have to shift ( my 50 is 3 up...) for some reason I believe it's up... I'll check today... that and the brake. And, it does have the black number plate that says "Honda". The ONLY thing it is missing is the black cover that goes over the handlebar bolts. That disappeared some time ago.

I'm gonna buy a digital camera so I can take better pictures of everything. These were taken with a disposable hence the "great" quality. Should be soon for the front pics.

Never saw a blue one before...nice little ride!!

Thanks BaNsHeE350 and Bronc-O-Boy 11 for the compliments.

I've never seen another blue 70 EVER... don't think many were made... maybe like 1 out of 100. Stoney might know those numbers.

I'd like to find another one but, I don't think it'll ever happen.

That thing is sweet! Pretty cool how it's kind of a part of the family too.

Actually several were made but only one year. And the real crazy rare iteam is the 1983 blue NOS with a factory ordered headlight/taillight with factory wire loom! Now that is a one in a million. The blue ones are cool. Many dont have the original front fenders, the front takes so much abuse, and the poor design of the forks and the front valve cover bolts hitting, many replaced it with an aftermarket one. Not a big deal, but just a side note. Thank god they started making blue again, its been over 12 years since they made blue. That was the missing link to restoring the ol'blu. If you found original blue fenders in any condition it was faded and ripped and just messed up, but now you can get mint, new blue ones, very nice. Matching the paint is a snap and the stickers are re-pro'd all day. The only bad thing about the ol'blu is there is no way of checking the vin against the color, because Honda never ran a "color code" so I could get an 83' and make it a blue! Not that anyone in the world would ever do that, but you could. blah, blah....I'm spent beer.gif

You will never ride that thing again,it is just going to sit for another 18 years while you think about fixing it. I think you are over it and should just give it to me! icon_biggrin.gif I've known Toy Collector for years and iv'e been drooling on this thing since I was like 15 years old....and it's still "Collecting" dust. Dust Collector get this thing together!

rolleyes.gif I'm far from over it. icon_biggrin.gif I am however, over doing things half assed. My goal is to get a nice chunk of change together so it can be done right the first time. None of this, "Better make sure you check the oil before you start it cause it leaks a quart every 10 minutes"... like a certain '84 200X that pisses everywhere. I want it to hold oil right... like the 50 does... or did... or might some day soon again. laughing.gif It may be collecting dust, but it ain't leaking like a filled up prostitute. icon_biggrin.gif

Now the 110, that beast is collecting dust permanently... or until the 70, 200 and 50 are all ready to go.

APB is just jealous cause I got a bunch of 3 wheelers and he needs 4 wheels to ride. blink.gif

Thanks everyone for your input.
